Long-term storage of framed prints, by Johnny Sarcasm on Mar 4, 2020 11:52:10 GMT 1, Hi guys, looking for some help please...
I am going through a separation and moving into rented accommodation so I need to pack up my Banksy prints and store them somewhere for, probably, 2 years minimum.
Does anyone have any advice in this regard?
I am planning to store them with a temperature controlled storage facility and crate them.
My concerns are that despite the temp control and crate, the prints will buckle.
Does anyone have any experience/recommendations?
Thanks so much.

Long-term storage of framed prints, by Quinnster on Mar 4, 2020 11:57:38 GMT 1, I would not want my prints in a storage facility. I would probably unfame them and keep them in portfolio close to hand. Or more like take them round my parents house.

Long-term storage of framed prints, by dannubs on Mar 4, 2020 12:57:45 GMT 1, Yeah, it's not ideal...but no room in the rental flat sadly I feel your pain, I've been moving around from temp place to temp place for like 3 years now. It can be a ball ache keeping stuff protected. I'm semi lucky that my career requires me to have a bunch of flat file storage that I lug with me anyway so its never been an issue to keep the few cheap prints and posters I have.
I will say you can get some good flat file storage that takes up very little space. I just keep mine against the wall of whatever bedsit I'm in at that point, forget they're there half the time.

Good luck with it!

Long-term storage of framed prints, by ab3 on Feb 16, 2021 13:19:27 GMT 1, Just wanted to follow up on this and see if you found anywhere or if you can recommend anywhere.
I'm at the point that my art insurance premium had gone through the roof and they now want a centrally monitored alarm fitted. So i'm wondering if I could put a couple of pieces into storage and this would work out financially better.

Buy a fake. Swap the print. Engineer an argument and destroy said print in a rage.
That's you at least 80k up.
Repeat a couple of times.
Good luck BTW. These things are an absolute nightmare but you'll get through it stronger.
