Max Rumbol new print tomorrow , by kuni on Mar 4, 2020 22:40:47 GMT 1, On one hand, I’m a fan of Max and about a 6 mos ago put myself on his list for originals (if there even is a list and he wasn’t just blowing smoke up my ass). Haven’t heard anything but def haven’t hounded him as I’ve been busy chasing down other pieces. But yes, really like his work.
On the other hands the 3D nature of his work is what makes it so special. His work has so many different planes and textures and I can’t imagine how it would translate onto a print. It’s not the image itself that I find so compelling but his technique which is integral to the successful execution.
Anyone else feel this way?

How long ago was this? I just went back and looked and I spoke to him in September, so guessing that galleries have gotten involved since and whatever list he had added me to is now probably irrelevant. Any idea what the galleries are asking for his pieces now?
But to your point he’s definitely a nice guy and was extremely polite and generous with his time. Even if it was just to say “no”.

this was back in march or april, he would send a pdf direct to those on the wait list. raging I missed out at such a good price. now its 3k plus. that gallery is on his page but can't remember. DM me Kuni I have a pdf

was lucky enough to buy two originals in august 2019 directly off him. some friends also bought back then. pricing for his last show in London has tripled/quadrupled vs. direct buy. next show in Spain also higher priced...
