I wasn't sure what he was posting about yesterday blowing up IG. Figured he would maybe be trying to make a difference or something with Coronovirus and the world being turned upside down, but nope, just typical Brian trying to pump more junk out to capitalize financially and boost his pathetic ego.

This is just woefully conceived. I downloaded it when I saw it on Instagram but as soon as it asked me to pay to place a figure in a random location, I switched it off. Why would you? How long is that fun? A couple of minutes? If you like seeing cartoons in the real world via your phone, download Pokemon Go. It's free and there are more of them.

Sebastian Errazuriz had some interesting videos on his instagram recently (guy talks a lot of wank but also sense sometimes IMO) about the future of art being in the leasing of images in virtual space, which makes a lot of sense when you think about the way technology is heading with things like google glass. Add to that the fact that people are already moving away from buying originals with editioned prints (albeit I personally don't think a digital image of any quality matches the feel of a physical print, least not yet).

This is the first case of being able to rent a virtual sculpture for an augmented reality space that I've seen. Jeff Koons and Snapchat was similar but you couldn't rent anything, it was just an AR public piece. 

To be clear, I don't think this is a good service by any stretch of the imagination. Ridiculous prices aside, I've seen videos of the sculptures in situ and they look janky as owt. Just an interesting step.

I'm actually starting to despise Kaws and his choices. This is ludicrous.
