Harland Miller โข Who Cares Wins Print, by Poster Bob on Apr 9, 2020 17:30:34 GMT 1, It's irrational to expect not to have to pay for paper and the printer's labor. I can't see a point in chastizing them for this unless you're aware of something we aren't, such as The Connor Brothers having an in-house printer that they operate themselves .

Not really when it's X5 edition size of a lot of his other editions. ยฃ6000 is OK if you have the cash for a massive edition & love the image, and are OK with waiting til maybe autumn for it to arrive.

Harland Miller โข Who Cares Wins Print, by teabaggins on Apr 9, 2020 18:07:14 GMT 1, The language of war around coronavirus has come under its own metaphorical fire in recent daysโdescriptions of the UK prime minister Boris Johnson as a โfighterโ who will โwin this battleโ appearing โtrite and misleadingโ, as the BBC journalist Emily Maitlis summed up so flawlessly on Newsnight last night. The British artist Harland Miller, who has made a career out of deadpan one-liners, has also turned a usually gung-ho aphorismโwho dares winsโinto something more considerate for these troubling times: who cares wins. White Cube is now selling 250 editions of the print, Who Cares Wins (2020), created in the style of Millerโs Penguin dust jacket series. Priced at ยฃ5,000 each, the aim is to raise ยฃ1.25m for those working on the coronavirus frontline, particularly carers. Miller says he first thought of the words when thinking about caring for people with dementia, specifically his dad. โAt the time the phrase worked like a five second pep talk to myself, to keep caring, because really thatโs all I could do,โ he says โSitting here in my ๏ฌat, nursing mercifully mild symptoms of Covid-19, I see from the lowering sun outside, itโs been a while since I wrote that last lineโฆ this inertia maybe a symptom of Covid-19, but it may also be that thenโas nowโcaring is all we can do. And caring for the carersโฆ is, I imagine, one of the ways we can do this best.โ All proceeds of the sale will be donated to the National Emergencies Trust in the UK, the New York Community Trust and HandsOn Hong Kong. Part of the UK funds will also go to the York Teaching Hospital Charity to support NHS staff in hospitals across Yorkshire, England where Miller was born.

This is the same image as the Liberty one but recoloured. The Liberty I think may have been digital whereas this is a screen print. The Liberty one was smaller and a smaller edition.
