Recommended Art Books, by kjg on Nov 1, 2022 18:16:10 GMT 1, Latest addition to my collection of signed books: the catalogue for the Werner Herzog exhibition at Deutsche Kinemathek in Berlin, Germany. Herzog is my favorite German film director. Thanks to a very nice UAA forum member it is signed and dedicated by the master himself :-)

Have to say the book is nicely produced - a lot of the recent releases documented. Looking forward to getting my replacement. The book plate (old school!) is indeed hand signed….

Agreed not as nice as direct signing and inscription by the author (he has done this for some of his previous books!), Increasingly common for author signatures to be on personalised bookplates though, and still better than no signature so long as there is good provenance.

I’m actually glad it was not stuck inside the book as the packaging from ‘Family Store’ was useless so my book arrived with a minor dent on the corner.
The book itself is definitely worth getting as the quality of paper used is better than others.

One new for £120 or an excellent condition one with no bids start at £10.. I paid under £20 for a secondhand one which is pretty much new. It’s a few years old so more used copies for sale than new. Well worth a read. |
