Quality is like if they would've printed the book at half size it would've looked fine, but the images, in the size they are, are super pixelated. Really like the content of the book though! I don't Instagram, so if you hear they are replacing copies or offering new better copies please let me know! |

I initially ordered it to give to a friend that's starting out in the music industry, however I got hooked and read the entire book in two sittings. It's aimed at people already making art (in all forms) and is written with great care and warmth. Very inspiring, I've already switched up my painting style to see what happens...care of Mr Rick Rubin. It's soulfully hardcore |

Not exactly scoop of the year, but Rough Trade had some more of the signed Shrigley books available earlier this afternoon. I was about to update on here, then shortly afterwards noticed they were then not available, but you can now 'notify me when available'. Might be worth doing if you are after one as they perhaps have a few knocking around?

I have the book and quite enjoy it. It’s a robust review of his life and full body of work - the good and the bad. I think the historical context and where he was, who was there, what they were all doing, who lived and died…really just an interesting time and place.
if you have seen the “Shadowman” documentary, you have the gist of it. Sad that his estate has hit some issues after his passing.
In full disclosure, I am probably biased as I have this sitting on the floor across the room from me right now…

Quick follow up here - pulled the book back out given the prompt.
As with most Rizzoli, heavy on pictures and images and light on text and content. Which is what I like and wanted. Just a note.
Also, looking at the details the book is clearly an Andy Valmorbida project (including fine print warnings that Untitled-1 Copyright Limited owns the rights for all Richard Hambleton ever made....) I know that some (many) folks have strong views on Andy and his business practices and his claiming of the Hambleton "estate" as his...
