Not a new idea, but a new depiction. This deviates from the "doctors and nurses wearing superhero capes" trope – granted, the doll has a cape... but the incorporation of a child adds emotion. Regardless, can't say I've seen this interpretation of healthcare workers viewed as heroes. |

Yeah I agree and it was remis of me to be so dismissive. I couldn't be arsed to articulate my thoughts. The NHS being publicly treated as heroes when actually all the media and government spin about protect the NHS is all a smokescreen whilst elements of it and its supply chain are being farmed out or should I say pharmed out! From equipment to medicine. Let's all celebrate the nurses...oh wait the entire structure is being undermined.

It is true that there are many in the healthcare workforce that deserves respect. But it must also be mentioned that 06 May is the start of nurses week which concludes on the 12th of May which happens to be Florence Nightingales birthday. The one person attributed with formulating modern day nursing practices (This information doesn’t mean you have to like the image though). These correlations can not be overlooked when it comes to the message within the artwork. I like it. I may be a little bias as I’m a nurse.
