David Choe Batman Watercolour charity auction on eBay(24hrs), by darkarts on May 7, 2020 13:40:14 GMT 1, Artist David Choe hasn't sold work in over 10 years (because he doesn't need to with all his facebook cash etc). He has put this original watercolour batman painting on sale through comic book artist Jim Lee for a rare opportunity to own an original piece of his.
There's just over 24 hours left on the auction, it's already up to a substantial price at time of posting - it was only a 3 day auction so thought I'd share here for anyone to check out if they wish.

Joining the all star legion of artists supporting the cause is my good friendโthe ever innovative creative whirlwind that is David Choe! Iโve known David for over 13 years now and heโs always been an incredible inspiration to me in how he embraces change and fearlessly commits to paths less traveled. He has reinvented himself many times over his years, but the one constant is his ability to electrify audiences with his artwork and storytelling. Heโs not done a lot of comic work and really made his name doing high end gallery exhibitions but even left that gig to pursue more personal pet projects. Regardless heโs a huge fan of comics and comic book stores and wants to help out with this Batman contribution which is now a 3 day auction on EBay! Great rendition of a usually played out concept. This is lovely. I do like my Batman to be dark and moody. After all he is The Dark Knight. Also like that there is no bat symbol.
Money going to charity is a big plus.

But damn. $17K is out of reach for me. I own a 2006 Choe original watercolor on paper, and I should be thankful that I acquired it when I did.
