Most of the stencil stuff I do the stencils get ruined through a combination of spray paint and weather.
I agree there is something really nice about a used stencil covered in paint.
I have made a few pieces in the past where I have turned old silk screens into art works and have just been offered a load of old screens so planning to do that again... but that is a slightly different thing.

Power back here but over 180,000 in the south without power. Driving back from the school today i saw the mess on the roads, big cleanup needed.

The weather wasn't the best and the stencil didn't survive but we got it all done
this is a mix of screen printed wall paper, stencil and a bit of collage just to make sure all bases were covered.
i didn't get any process shots but my girlfriend got a few.

I really like this piece. There is a load of subtle bits of painting that are hard to catch on camera.
Tonight I am working on the paper editions of this piece it is hard to get the same kind of rough detail on paper than it is on wood.

A tray frame sits behind the image. Generally used for canvases. You only see the sides and usually a bit of the back. Basically a frame with no glass. I would describe yours as tray framed to a extent.

I have been working on this variable edition of screen print/paintings for quite a while now and I am half way through the edition so thought now would be the time to get some of them up online.
The idea with this edition was to experiment with each piece, using different techniques and colour schemes in the painting and in the process hopefully learn some stuff. I think I have learnt some things (Iโll have to sleep on it to find out exactly what) but this edition has taken a lot longer to make than I originally intended.
But I am half way there.
So, this piece is called In the Loop and is a variable edition of 20.
The paper measures 76x56 cm and the image itself is 72x48 cm (for the pieces on the horizontal just flip those numbers around) and the paper itself is acid free fabriano grey.
