My art appreciation is focussed around the Shoreditch (Black Rat Press) street art scene from the 2000s - when I used to live and work there - and havenโt strayed away too far from buying pieces by these guys.
Opie is a step into the more contemporary art world for me. He reminds me of Stik with the suttelties of the human frame and prime colours and shapes. But owning his work means deep pockets so Iโd love to hear if the forum collectors share an appreciation or if thereโs an underlying block that Iโm not aware of.
Any suggestions will be hugely appreciated as galleries just say what you want to hear.

Globally heโs recognized and accomplished. His work is in museums and collections all over the world. Currently represented by 12 different galleries worldwide.
Works in an incredibly broad range of mediums and has done some really cool things balancing tech and traditionalism.
Has work available in just about every price range for collections of his work. The Opie shop is regularly updated with some really cool pieces for very little money. As far as print editions they are (imo) more reasonable than what a lot of folks here are willing to shell out for some of the more temporary artists.
If you are thinking in terms of monetary value or return then I donโt often seeing an Opie sell for a loss if bought first hand. So unless paying over the odds on the secondary I donโt see you losing money.
End of the day if you like his work pick something up!

Its a screenprint, size 100x60cm. There is some small text bottom left and right in the white frame.
Edition size is unknown but estimated to be around 1,000
They got quite expensive ( I paid 200gbp for mine a few years ago ) recently and there are plenty pf (good) copies on ebay.
