Save The London Rainbow Benches, by skAcid on May 31, 2020 18:10:41 GMT 1, Petition Link
The Mayor of London NEEDS TO KNOW - I quote from City Hall MAYOR OF LONDON LONDON ASSEMBLY during COVID-19 โCity Hall is working to support and celebrate Londonโs culture, creative industries and night time economy during the COVID-19 crisis โ as well as looking after its immediate resilience and longer term recoveryโ ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ
Question, then why was Artist Paul Insect Rainbow benches removed? We need more positive colourful commissioned artwork and or sculptures right now to lead us out of COVID-19 and into โLondon is Open For Businessโ. We can not solely depend upon the historic artwork and sculptures to attract visitors to London the world will be looking upon us to deliver new, exciting, innovative quirks. Artist Paul Insect Rainbow benches are being removed from prime tourist attraction locations across London and it is a fantastic way of therapy especially for those and or with certain types of a disability? AmeriDisability.com explains how colour therapy benefits people with disabilities. There are even a number of photos online of the public finding them fascinating enough to WANT to take a picture of.
For us to feel inspired and uplifted as we slowly emerge out of the pandemic. Lets continue to remember how we felt on Thursdays at 8:00pm when we clapped for the NHS nurses. Did that not up lift our spirits? and MADE us feel we came together as the/a United Kingdom? I refuse to walk around in a zombie like state when there is so much joy to appreciate and one of those joys was by Artist Paul Insect - RAINBOW BENCHES ๏ฟฝ
I urge you to sign this petition and let the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan take note that artist Paul Insect Rainbow Benches is/was not 1. An eyesore and 2. Is/was an attraction around London that is uplifting the sprite of Londoners. THEY NEED TO BE REINSTATED.
