Lets talk about Mental Health, by mojo on Jun 11, 2020 15:10:10 GMT 1, Its worth remembering that many of the mental health facilities, rehab centres and methadone clinics are currently closed or very hard to access during the lockdown leaving many very vulnerable people without their regular support networks.
I just hope they are ok, get the help they need and get better.

Totally agree with you. I don't find it very kind to make fun at a person that clearly something serious is happening to them. I enjoy wit and sarcasm on this forum but not when it is directed towards someone more vulnerable than us.

Lets talk about Mental Health, by drip on Jun 11, 2020 19:55:19 GMT 1, Totally agree with you. I don't find it very kind to make fun at a person that clearly something serious is happening to them. I enjoy wit and sarcasm on this forum but not when it is directed towards someone more vulnerable than us. Hence I made the comment some peopleโs reality everyday . Quite a few people here have mental health issues as noted by construction of language and thought processes used In discussion but all too many jump on board and mock And jest and the bullying left to continue with others encouraging the behaviour targeted towards the individual which becomes mob fashion . Obviously a few people have read post history to make a summarisation . With what is happening globally The effects will be more severe to some than others . Another sign of misconstructed and illogical language could be a sign of stroke or diabetes which could be dangerous if isolated alone ? I can definitely confirm the diabetes (or general low blood sugar) thing. When I was younger, for about 4 years, my mum was considered to be quite a talented local clairvoyant. She'd have visions and intense feelings about individuals now and then. The worst being in the middle of a cemetery this one time. I was with her and she just suddenly stopped walking, then asked me whether I could see them? When I asked who? She said that all the graves had skeletons with shovels and pickaxes, and they were all digging. At this point I left her and went to get assistance. When we got back, she was on her hands and knees digging in the ground with her fingers.
Anyway, long story short - turns out she wasn't psychic, she just had unmanaged diabetes.
Let's all hope that urbanartcellar gets the assistance they need, and are back on here, healthy and well soon.

Lets talk about Mental Health, by drip on Jun 11, 2020 23:09:09 GMT 1, Yeah, my sister suffered with that as a result of a few brain tumours. It was progressive, but first noticed when she couldn't type what she was thinking. The words and letters were just all jumbled up. Eventually it affected her speech too. She found it incredibly frustrating, to be able to think and know what she wanted to say, but she just couldn't communicate it. Towards the end, it seemed like she had a fixation with the number seven. She would say seven this, seven that, to the point where all her family and friends thought she'd chosen it as some sort of lucky number. Like, because she was close to death, or that she had one foot in the afterlife, she had some sort of mystical knowledge.
Immediately after her death (and still to this day), her friends and relatives bought seven-related items, placed bets based around the number seven, one even thought the appearance of the number would ensure a happy home when they moved house recently.
Anyway, long story - short, I eventually (and by eventually, I mean quite early on) figured it out, it wasn't "seven" she kept meaning to say, it was "Sharon" - our sister. But her brain was jumbled. She'd try to say "Is that Sharon.", "Oh god, not Sharon." or "Please don't f*cking leave me with Sharon." - and it would come out as "It's Seven!", "Oh good, Seven!" and "Seven f*cking seven!"
The brain is a weird thing. It's everything. It's where we live.
Anyway.

Lets talk about Mental Health, by drip on Feb 5, 2024 12:29:57 GMT 1, If anyone happens to be having a slight mental health moment right now, if you have someone that you can call, a crisis team, a family member, a trusted art dealer, I would suggest giving them a tinkle and saying hi. Just check in.
If you're ever in doubt about your own marbles, always check in with a friend or medical professional. People are there to help, and generally will.
Stay safe.

I have been referring patients ( with chronic pain ) to the Sapphire Clinic, although I believe they have recently rebranded. It's good to hear an alternative with positive feedback.

Lets talk about Mental Health, by Smokeidaeye on Feb 6, 2024 20:09:19 GMT 1, I definitely don't mess around with my mental health. In the last 18 months, I have lost both parents, an aunt, an uncle, two very close friends, and a co-worker so I found an online therapist to help talk through the grief, anxiety (which I never suffered from previously), and emotional swings. First time I have ever spoken to a therapist but it has been very helpful having someone to just listen and help work through all of that loss and the after effects.

Wow I can't think of anything worse for my mental health. I used to smoke insanely strong skunk and hash when I was younger and I'd alternate between being either paranoid or a complete waster. Not sure if the cannabis they're giving people medically is in someway different but I'm surprised they're giving it to people for depression.

You'd be surprised what can be achieved with the correct terpenes, it's not all super high thc either.

Lets talk about Mental Health, by artstuff on Feb 7, 2024 9:02:29 GMT 1, Wow I can't think of anything worse for my mental health. I work in the industry. The 1 thing that guarantees you canโt get a medical marijuana prescription is if youโve had any mental health issues (uk). You can get a prescription in the uk for medical marijuana usually for chronic pain. There are private clinics that offer this, you would have had to try 2 pharmaceutical drugs first then they send a request to the home office which have to approve it. You can get vapes, gummyโs and other methods of consuming your medicine. Dm me if anyone needs help finding a clinic in the uk.
Theyโve tested mushrooms and mdma for depression and mental health with good results and I believed the first person the get a prescription or trials has been recently.
defo no thc for depression and mental health. Maybe cbd which has very little thc and little to no psychoactive effects.

Who do you work for ? Do you have a medical role ? Would love to hear more. I have my private prescription for anxiety and depression, have done so for 6 months now. They won't prescribe if you've had psychosis or have a family history of it.
Curaleaf, mamedica etc have exactly the same terms... no thc for mental health is absolutely not the case. I'm happy to be wrong, but it means that every single private MC provider is braking the law.
The misconception is that its all about thc, terpenes are what makes rhe meds work for a lot of people including myself.

we're not in the consumer facing side of the industry but supply clinics like mamedica.
I was sloppy with my wording tbh, you're right about depression and I meant wider mental health issues. I'm no expert on mental heath so apologies for the misinformation.
I'd advise anyone to have a consultation with a specialist clinic.
