But a more up-to-date version of realism remains achievable. From what I understand, this would only require disfiguring his face and chopping his body into pieces.

Development , you can not expect perfection straight off , you have only just started taking up art?
Look on the banksy canvas threads , some of banksys early work looks awful and over the years you can see the progression and perfection
