Sandra Chevrier and Shepard Fairey Collab, by kapusta on Jul 20, 2020 21:05:12 GMT 1, Mine just arrived with a missing cap, and the kraft paper is the exact size of the print, and the print edge was sticking out of the tube DHL delivery person claimed they can't do anything or document anything unless I wanted to refuse it.

Sandra Chevrier and Shepard Fairey Collab, by chevyav53 on Jul 21, 2020 4:28:56 GMT 1, DHL sucks, all my experiences with them have either been disappointing or horrible. But have received several claims as they know they are horrible. Dealing with a claim from a damaged figure from Mighty Jaxx despite superb packaging.
Sounds like many of you are documenting and make sure lots of pics and file as soon as you receive them.

Sandra Chevrier and Shepard Fairey Collab, by 7thson on Jul 21, 2020 5:14:02 GMT 1, Yikes. Mine isn't due til Thursday. Definitely not waiving signature now I've had 7 or 8 things delivered via DHL in the past couple months (only option for some of the international purchases I've been making). Most were insured for a decent amount, including one insured for $6k. For none of them did I waive signature, yet every single one they just dropped at my front door and tracking history falsely showed signed by me.
That may be an issue with my local courier, or standard practice now with social distancing, but to be safe I would strongly recommend you are at home for the delivery, and are watching for it, if possible at all. Alternatively, you may be able to add some notes/comments for the carrier stressing that they do not just leave the tube without you personally receiving it.
I received mine today (left at my doorstep), and was surprised it arrived safely. They used PVC, but as other posters have commented, the tape job was extremely lacking. While opening mine, one of the caps popped off with barely any effort, so I have no idea how it survived that long. Also, the kraft paper they used was extremely stingy and does not provide any protection for the edges. So if the cap does pop off, there's not much more protecting the print.

Sandra Chevrier and Shepard Fairey Collab, by nerdgazette on Jul 23, 2020 17:40:27 GMT 1, Print arrived safely. Yeah, one ding to an end cap and the print is screwed. These definitely belong in 30" tubes for shipping. Maybe the gallery made a booboo ordering supplies and didn't want to splurge on fixing the mistake... or they're just super confident in pvc pipes.

Sandra Chevrier and Shepard Fairey Collab, by Smokeidaeye on Aug 25, 2020 18:41:45 GMT 1, Missed out on the print but I did get to visit the mural while dropping our son off at the University of Texas Austin the other day. It's pretty cool in person, though a decent portion is obscured by trees. It's next to Congress St. bridge so if you go at sundown you can catch the bats show.
I also discovered a great contemporary art gallery that specializes in a lot of the same artists covered here. Definitely worth checking out if in Austin: wcc.art/

They had a wcp print listed as a legit banksy and try to sell open edition shepard fairey prints for insane amounts. wcc.art/product/obey-3-face-collage/ Good to know, especially about the WCP print. I wasn't buying as I could source most of the art less expensively elsewhere but it was nice to browse while checking out the Domain shopping area.
