I couldn't find a thread on terrible packaging but I thought it might create a useful how not to pack prints for anyone, particularly those new to packing prints. Mainly it was an excuse to post this shocker, thankfully the print was a low value Kozyndan print, but it is signed and limited edition. 1. Sellotape used to tape the print to itself to stop unravelling 😦 2. Using a bog roll that is way shorter than the print for protection.😧Couldn't even stretch to a kitchen roll tube! 3. Stuffed in a bubble wrap envelope that was just big enough with no further protection. 😩 Needless to say the print had edge damage and was coiled too tightly. I had to laugh when I opened it 🤣 I won't say which gallery I bought it from (kidding, it was a random ebay purchase).

There are so many artists/staff that don't know how to roll and package a print. I didn't order one of these but have received prints/drawings on paper direct from other artists and a good percentage have been damaged by poor handling and packaging.
I find that prints bought from eBay or on here are packaged better than by some gallery's and artists. Saying that some are great at it.
Good packaging avoids so many problems such as poor customer experience, cost with replacement and shipping, and extra work etc. I can't understand why it is so often missed.

I would be interested to know Mr Doodle's thoughts about cutting his work and selling the parts lol pretty sure what you are referring to is like every installation Mr Doodle did at that point in time where the room was covered in sheets of paper and he doodled on them - I myself bought 3 pieces of "cut up" from one such installation from Mr Doodle himself (he signed each one) so hope your interest has been piqued knowing that it was probably him |

I requested them in March 2019, I don't know if things have changed (in terms of design, etc.).
My certificates of authenticity are issued and signed by Mr. Doodle's manager. (Authorized Signature & Company Seal, the SINIT exhibition & content located in Korea).
Hand-signature and dry stamp, all in a beautiful plastic envelope with Mr. Doodle written on it and a self-portrait designed by Mr. Doodle himself.
I was contacted directly by the Manager because I had requested the COA's from: contact@mrdoodle.com
It's been more than a year now and things change quickly, if someone else has updates it would be helpful to know.

I mean artist work on a piece of art, cutting it into 4 pieces, I don’t see them as 4 pieces of art, but 4 parts of a destroyed piece of art. I get It, when the artist the self does it (Kaws Mocad prints).
I don’t have problem with people buying/selling these, I just don’t understand.
Maybe I miss the point here, but shouldn’t they be worthless? I mean artist work on a piece of art, cutting it into 4 pieces, I don’t see them as 4 pieces of art, but 4 parts of a destroyed piece of art.
