Mr Doodle π¬π§ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by Iqra'a on Sept 1, 2020 16:16:59 GMT 1, So received an email about cutting it up and mailing it back....
This feels weird; it feels wrong to cut up a piece. But I guess it makes sense if they're receiving lots of replacement requests and this helps reduce the amount of physical space taken up by the returned prints.
Has anyone gone through the whole process yet?

Cutting up actually reduces the cost of the return. Otherwise theyβd be forking out for 270 tubes.

Mr Doodle π¬π§ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by Winks on Sept 1, 2020 16:24:04 GMT 1, What's the name of the butcher Mr Doodle hired to fold and ship those prints? Shocked to see a GBP 1000 print in such a poor care.
By the look of the return address it looks like a newspaper delivery firm.

Mr Doodle π¬π§ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by Iqra'a on Sept 1, 2020 16:52:10 GMT 1, That doesn't look like shipping damage, that looks like rolling damage. it does look like forceful rolling but it was rolled from the other side though - strangely enough.

Have read of damaged prints in the past just being cut and pictures them mailed back to get a replacement numbered print send out. Having seen that some of his work has been cut and resold as smaller pieces, is it a stretch to assume that they are also wanting the cut up print returned to prevent it being resold as smaller prints after they have sent a replacement. whatever you do - sorry to hear about the damage - but I'd also get someone to film you cutting it up and also take pictures and what not of the cut up print before returning it

Mr Doodle π¬π§ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by Winter on Sept 1, 2020 17:12:35 GMT 1, They definitely weren't rolled/packaged by anyone that knows that they're doing. Now they've had so many returned they will probably have a rethink.

You shouldn't roll against the grain, or you get paper "cracking"... This might be the reason.

No, since he has authorised the room sized ones to be cut up which are the ones that have been sold

Mr Doodle π¬π§ Print Release β’ Show News β’ Art For Sale, by Winks on Sept 1, 2020 17:42:58 GMT 1, Cutting it up rather than sending it back is good for the buyer - be creative in how you cut it up and you might get to keep a section to put on the wall (if you like the image enough)
I thought about that but bottled it thinking they might weigh it with some coke scales βοΈ
