Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by Terry Fuckwitt on Aug 16, 2020 14:47:19 GMT 1, Would be delighted for him to make more money for his work. He's a historically important artist, if not visually my bag. Doesn't stop the talk on here reeking of self-interested hype from people who have some of his work tucked under the bed. One eBay auction, a chess set and a Heidi Klum purchase from last year do not add up to 'next big thing' status. The work on his site only sold out after lots of big talk on this forum. This place has a long history of generating a short term surge in prices for artists who generate little fuss at the major auction houses. I have no dog in this fight. If he becomes extremely valuable, makes no difference to me. I don't own his work and don't like it enough to buy it. But all the hype encouraging people to spend lots of money on him, on the basis of very little evidence, is a bit grim.Β
Same feelings here. I do like what he does and he's been at it years, so fair play to him. I just hope all this sudden forum hype doesn't have a negative impact on his career/market. Saying that though I would rather read threads about him, than Mr fuckin doodles flip flops.

That Is if you choose that option during the framing process.
A normal person would buy the print only, and not publicly bump something that would attract more attention with an artist they like

That site has 9 different signed limited editions available, starting at 140 euros, but they're not selling out.
Let's ignore that, though, and build the hype around the fact that each time one piece is released through his official site it sells within an hour.

I donβt think the artists name is actually attached, it comes on a separate piece of paper.

From a buyer's perspective, I also don't blame anyone for hoovering up canvases by an historically important artist for <Β£500 Β£600*.
