Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by Deleted on Aug 22, 2020 19:24:36 GMT 1, This has become fascinating. Either he's about to enter the big leagues, value-wise, or this is going to be a very quickly expanding bubble that will burst just as fast.
Tripling your prices in about a week seems a risky strategy for an artist.

Not really , if people are prepared to pay gp vault sales prices for non established artists , seems ok for a long established artist . Still annoyed I missed out as kept viewing his site over the last few years π

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by beicoblack on Aug 22, 2020 19:36:06 GMT 1, Two tiny and super old originals were available at a German auction with the opportunity to "buy immediately" until this afternoon for a very low price... I have passed the pictures to Thierry and asked if these works are legit. He asked me for the link and a few minutes later both are gone. Also Thierry or his team contacted a few galleries in Berlin to stop them from selling his art. Why could this be? Self control over the market? How much were they? I'd have just risked it and bought them if they were cheap. Grab now check later is my plan, unless it's big money. Guess what I did with 2 other pieces that have been available there...

If I saw an artist whack up the price of their originals several times in the same day, I'd be put off. Especially when they only release one at a time. But it's clearly working for him, so good luck to him.

I'm not a fan, so not in the market for his art. Just watching the madness from the sidelines.

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by tomashaw on Aug 22, 2020 20:22:58 GMT 1, Incredible to see what is happening to the prices, but he has been seriously undervalued for a while given his history. It is not surprising if there are shows coming up - prices will need to cover the overheads of the shows and gallery costs. I've been a fan for a while and so glad that I managed to get one earlier in the year as a little treat to myself in lockdown! Was thinking the best way to frame it would be a tray frame in black or white? What are you using to upload pictures? Used to use photobucket, no Dropbox, but it's rubbish.
Just used the standard UAA upload image function - nothing too technical! π

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by lommeteiv on Aug 23, 2020 10:26:41 GMT 1, So here is a bold statement: This is not a forum-bubble. His prices will not fall again. He have gained good attention in asia, and many asian collectors are buying into him. Next year he will have shows at Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Seoul and Tokyo.
I guess, he will end up as a big part of street-art history, and will probably be included in many museum collections. Maybe 3k is high for a OG? Maybe it will be 10k in a couple of years. We will see.

I pioneer of the scene who is only just getting recognition. Stands alongside banksy, stik, blek, invader etc for his contribution to street art. A few good shows and auction results and the days of a canvass in the hundreds are well and truly over. Congratulations to everyone that got something recently.
Iβm sure his forthcoming shows will be amazing, I remember the show with Seth troxler djing a few years back was great! I picked up a mini gold canvass as a momento for Β£50.

European buyers are buying expensive prints by an European artist which have been available since ages in a Japanese Gallery... Specially Asian hype would be visible on social media or not?

I had an email from him/studio a few months ago...bold statement but fair enough. Hard to substantiate though - well soon see with you and coming shows in Asia & LA.
β There are a lot of good collectors out there too in places like Tokyo and Seoul.
One lady in China says she has a house bigger than Buckingham Palace and offered to buy everything single artwork that I ever made - can you imagine.
There are shows under preparation for LA, New York, London, Paris, Seoul and Tokyo.
Also a big special exhibition in Ibizaβ
Good on him though although the recent selling out of shop is due to forum and not global demand ha ha

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by turntored on Aug 23, 2020 12:44:40 GMT 1, I heard directly from Thierry that there is a huge surge in interest from Japan.
I turned down a canvas he offered me back in early July as I was holding out for a grey / black (which I got tbe following week) to add to the collection.
He said then that things were going crazy with a hugh proportion of his new work heading to Japan.
Like others I am now thinking this maybe isn't the hype bubble I thought it was.
