He have gained good attention in asia, and many asian collectors are buying into him. Next year he will have shows at Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Seoul and Tokyo. I guess, he will end up as a big part of street-art history, and will probably be included in many museum collections. Maybe 3k is high for a OG? Maybe it will be 10k in a couple of years. We will see.
So here is a bold statement: This is not a forum-bubble. His prices will not fall again. He have gained good attention in asia, and many asian collectors are buying into him. We will see. His people have already stated that there are exhibitions upcoming in LA, New York, London, Paris, Seoul and Tokyo. Pre sales of canvasses are around £10k right now but may well rise. He seems to be preparing for the up and coming exhibitions, so makes sense to get rid of all old art work now. Possibly paying for all the new work coming. I wonder how many galleries are hoarding his works ready to sell if prices do continue to rise. |

I love Micallef's Judgement Day, it's one of my fav prints. Missed the prints release, I finally managed to purchase it a couple years later only to find that seller failed to let me know that it had removed from the frame and whoever framed it had used some form of tape on the back. One day I hope to replace it, but I'd love more of Micallef's work whether he's hyped or not. he's a great artist. (story time ;/) |

Completely oblivious to how different markets work, so just interested in how people know something like that. As long as Poster Bob is not on board... this is all FOMO
