Thierry Noir 🇨🇵 Berlin Wall • French Street Arist , by Gurn on Aug 25, 2020 12:12:01 GMT 1, why? just because he is having attention on the art market? i'm happy for him.... sorry i just think its wrong,he's not even putting an effort into his last few and feels like he's having a laugh, doing this to his own fans If someone was willing to pay four times your salary to do the same work...would you refuse on moral grounds? Just be happy for him..he gets the money for doing the work, instead of the real leeches.

That was bidded up to that price over 24 hours ago. As @giveashit said, the buyer will possibly pull out of the sale after seeing what this one fetched.

Someone sold the head for 3 grands, then whoever bought it, re-sold it for half the price?
No, it's the same seller. Either first sale was shilled or the highest bidder didn't pay.

Thierry Noir 🇨🇵 Berlin Wall • French Street Arist , by Arty Farty 15 on Aug 25, 2020 22:49:04 GMT 1, I want to talk about the art for a bit. At first they look decorative. Like those posters in kindergartens. Very pedestrian and disposable. It’s like putting canvases of Mr Men on youth wall. Thing is - they were painted on the Berlin Wall During the Cold War. Like, all over it; for years. So it does something. It ridicules it. The wall and the separation - the whole thing is stupid. It’s a fear remover. It’s a big f u to tension and hate. If you have one on the wall Now, you can feel how stark and hard it pops. Like a traffic sign. It changes the mood of the room quite quickly. Things are less serious. Which is what’s nice about it. It’s not intricate. But it’s very strong and defined. It’s not emotive (Stik’s simple lines are more expressive). But it’s mood changing. It doesn’t make people think. It makes people smile. In this time of great divide and chaos - Thierry’s art could bring us all some hope and happiness. I like it. Just feel iffy about the rather staged hype feeling generated on this thread. Thank you. Goodnight! Please try the fish!
This is great. Well articulated and there is a dark undertone to the simplicity and brightness of his pieces. After all nearly 250 people died crossing the wall. Appreciating the history makes you appreciate the art even more.
This is worth a read too: thierrynoir.com/berlin-wall/
