Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by Gentle Mental on Aug 25, 2020 4:37:03 GMT 1, Of course Thierry and his guys have been reading and posting and teasing and drip drop baiting us - in this thread!
This thread has been his biggest income source!
The art is decorative. And itβs historic.
But so are most hand made tourist tat you find at any UNESCO site.
Every purchase is a leap of faith that the collector puts in the artist. A hope of sort - that artist wouldnβt abuse and exploit with unrealistic hype.
A vote of confidence - so the artist would go far beyond hustling and bumping this thread with eBay and Instagram sales listing.
To have real success in the real world.
And make us proud (and yes, rich). Haha.

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by rosac on Aug 25, 2020 7:46:52 GMT 1, In my opinion Thierry noir and his team are just selling off all old works. New pricing will begin at his new shows. The daily price increases are a bit bizarre but I guess as long as people are buying them then itβll continue until all stock is sold?!
I would be interested what a decent sized canvass would go for at his new shows.
Strange strategy but I donβt find it offensive. Heβs an artist who has missed out on years of money. Iβm happy for him.

All these works now selling are from shows from 2014,2016,2019 that were available on his site in vast amounts until a few weeks ago

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by DameHoracia on Aug 25, 2020 8:19:20 GMT 1, He's in my collection. I just don't have a large canvas. I didn't need 12 Noirs so I bought what I liked at the time. Would I have bought more if i knew? maybe, but my brain doesn't really work like that neither does my purse. I gave up my mansion along with the pearls and caviar so can't rely on the family jewels when I buy art. Right, except that when he was affordable you could have bought more, maybe giving up one can of caviar, keeping the mansion (maybe AirBnb?), pearls and as to the family jewels I suppose it depends on what you mean by that. π§

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by DameHoracia on Aug 25, 2020 8:30:44 GMT 1, I am a fan of his work and own a beautiful piece which I got last year. I also think his work is undervalued given his history but honestly, I do not like how he is being managed recently. His team offered me a work last week for Β£3600. The very same piece was offered to me 4 months ago at Β£950. I politely declined the offer given the huge price jump and his teamβs response was βyour lossβ, which I think was totally unnecessary. Lost a bit of respect to his team. This will no doubt end by more than the buyers being bitten on the arse.

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by Deleted on Aug 25, 2020 8:34:26 GMT 1, If he's to be taken seriously now, museum retrospective. Not just one part of the berlin wall sitting on the front lawn. Full Tate Modern blowout with catalogue, ticket sales, merch, newspaper ads, big vinyl promos on the exterior of the turbine hall wall shouting out to the thames, millennium bridge and st pauls, reviews in the guardian, independent, artnet, juxtapoz, artforum, bbc imagine episode with Alan Yentob, heni diasec production on aluminium release. Opening featured on the nightly bulletin, US news bureaus picking up the story, extending globally to nhk or arirang. Right now you can learn a lot through ebay listings.Heidi Klum is a collector. He collaborated with stik. He painted parts of the berlin wall. Artworks are signed on front. This warehouse must be worth a bit now. http://instagr.am/p/BfG1u85Aj0r See the making of bts below. snaptravelandpop.com/2018/03/27/painting-with-world-class-street-artist-thierry-noir-in-sydney/amp/ What would a retrospective look like? Most of his paintings have been effectively the same for decades. Aside from some variation early on. He has a distinctive style that makes him instantly recognisable, but it hasn't developed. A 2020 painting looks much the same as a 1990 one. Would be hard for a museum to give a big retrospective much of a story beyond the Berlin wall, particularly as most people have no idea who he is. He's part of the history of street art, but that doesn't necessarily mean everything between the 1980s and now has been interesting.

Thierry Noir π¨π΅ Berlin Wall β’ French Street Arist , by JW on Aug 25, 2020 10:03:49 GMT 1, I was watching that. It ended early so fairly sure it didn't go for this price. He re-listed after originally selling it for >Β£3k so there's no way he would have let it go for Β£1.5k.
The seller has 75% feedback and a comment that he previously cancelled a deal because it didn't get the price he wanted.
What a leech.

Still - watch this space, I reckon it will be re-listed again due to "non-payment".

It's not a bad price comparative to the last few tiny ones at Β£1k, but it's still x4 the price of what they were two weeks ago. I can't keep up with this thread, never seen anything like this in my life. I will just sit here munching on my popcorn to see what happens nextπ
