Invader Djerba Map , by Dahmer on Jan 6, 2021 0:43:40 GMT 1, When you think that some folded maps are now changing hands for over £600 then this signed editioned map for about £900 is actually a pretty good deal. I also remember when Hang Up had a signed map for £4K. However you look at it these are never going to dip under retail

Invader Djerba Map , by Lroy on Jan 6, 2021 8:08:38 GMT 1, I suspect you could'nt pay unless you filled a french address. I planned to go for a day in Paris end of January, from Brussels, but I never had the chance to finalize the payment. Yep i figured it out afterwards ! :/ its really worrying for you .. Tou should cross the street before and ask them ... but I think the game was over weeks ago ... I’m quite sure that nonne or only one was on line. Anyway, in the other side, you saved one K.. even if it’s a very cool one.

Invader Djerba Map , by Brittany's Urban on Jan 6, 2021 8:50:23 GMT 1, I honnestly think this such a lazy way of making handfinished touch. Dran used to make handfinished that meant something or Ernest Zacharevic and you could understand why you were paying a high cost for it. Probably the handfinish is not even done by the guy himself.
Invader, Vhils etc. are becoming lazy and they want high cash amount and it is now looking like a company they run. Invader used to say that the money was used to pay for his trips and art in the street, he must fly in first class now! They might be too big to fall but this direction is risky to me. One day collectors get fed up with this kind of crazy pricing for low interest items. Just my opinion of course...

It's the first handfinished (hand burn) invader print and maybe done by some assitant, personnaly i like the idea and would love to add it in my collection. Invader is stuck with OTI , all real art pieces pass by them (and he cashout million's) , all the rest is his passion and can sell to his shop , he is still in the street creating news pieces , being with itinerrance is maybe a new movement for 2 years now (with medhi he got access to paris mayor and got the eiffel tower and pompidou biggest invader ever made) and access to djerba (where medhi is from) i'm sure itinerrance IS trying to have his Invader pièce of cake (who would not?), all bluechip collector have invader pieces or will have one, he is too big to fail as you say, and good for him if he can fly in 1st class

Invader Djerba Map , by Brittany's Urban on Jan 6, 2021 10:49:42 GMT 1, I don't find it bad, I find it overpriced. The concept is nice but I think the "handfinished" thing is used to price up the release.
But this is a general direction of street art / urban art.
More and more often, collectors need to consider the purchase as an investment, when in the past it was really about liking the print. Then, people in here are asking "why don't you simply buy what you like?" "why do you consider your purchase as an investement?" Simply because the pricing of the artists are going crazy for "normal" collectors.
I think some artists stick to keeping the art affordables, Shepard Fairey for instance with numbered prints at low cost and some higher costs on the HPM or specific events (30 years of his carreer)
I don't blame them for making money but I blame them for making art for investors rather than collectors. You can find such good prints from 35USD but now the artists are surfing on the hype and are asking for 1.000€ so easily.
Thanks Forbidden Love for the correction on who make the handfinish

Laziness?
He's one of the only artists (Like Vhils, Banksy, at his own pace and that's apart from anyway, Stik, the Return) to always be in the streets and to invade wellknown or unknown places or cities. He made movies, he lauched an alias in the spac, He creates, is still going up and down, on his ladder etc.).
Jr? it's another business and a big, gigantic company.
Invader released the most beautiful embossed prints, or kits, not long ago. at 1,5 k : as UK/US could "cart" , nobody was scandalised.
Where is Dran in the streets? What a poor comparison ! Some French illustrators, drawners in comics, work 10 times more than him. And are making great BD albums !
Finally, why all this tolerance with Mr André and Kaws, who do nothing except commercial shitty mass-produce toys that are sold at high prices, using of their old reputation ?! Street-art is not Nike nor Supreme( rip ) .
Invader has the merit of working hard on the contrary, and I think that if there is so much bitterness on the UK / US side, it is because of the monopoly of street-art that is mostly English (besides we are on a UK forum :-) ) and, what irritated most of you the most (why are you surprised at the drop of 1k when members said that it would be 1K? it's bad faith) where the pick up on place. .. Regarding the prices of the prints (most of them only release prints at high prices, Jr. was the first to put his prints 7 years ago at 1 K. 200, overpriced!), most of all have increased, even artists, on the decline, that also do not hesitate to offer prints at 1k, 1k.500..
I was lucky enough to be able to buy a kit at 300 E 10 years ago, prints from Stik at 65 £, a print from Pejac at 400 E - why these prices now around 2k ? What value to give to a print with a price like this ?! -, Invader actually just followed the print market - which doubled because of people like Kaws (again) Jonas Wood, and some hyped artists etc, etc ...
Banksy with GDP was/is the greatest, but what next ?
I think that a majority here were disappointed not to be able to buy this print because of the shipping. But if they could, they would have bought! It is easy to criticize, either out of monopoly, envy, jealousy or frustration, because you don't have to buy one. I have no money so I did not try, but I am not angry.
As Hannibal Lecter said to Clarice when quoting Marcus Aurelius, what man does most of the times , He covets.

I do validate my cart and proceed to payment, and as i am an organised person, i already copy my credit card number, and just have to right clic to finalize purchazing the burnt map of Djerba, and Tadam !!!! "No billing adress" error twice... Funny thing for a piece of art you can only get at the gallery... PS:I live 200m from that f****** gallery Voilà !
Hahaha exact same thing for me ! Even though I did repeat the process a couple of times before. For once French are privileged for a print we fuck it up 🤦🏼♂️

Invader Djerba Map , by Brittany's Urban on Jan 6, 2021 11:48:28 GMT 1, I think you totally misunderstood what I said. I said that the handfinish part of this print is lazy. I have no judgement on Invader's activity and I am very happy he is still in the streets... In my opinion (just my opinion), this item was overpriced. Anyway, like all artists on top of the wave it is selling instantly, well that's good for him.
My point is just to say that most of the items are now very hard to collect by normal collectors and its moving to an investor market. I guess this is standard when the interest is growing and not applicable to only street art and urban art.
Anyway, I am not attacking anyone here, just sharing my thoughts. Hopefully you will understand that I do love street art and active artists in the streets and I hope those artists will keep items that are accessible to most of us.
I was hard on Vhils, but I am collecting his art and loving his street art walls. I did discover his art without knowing who he was and I was simply impressed. I just hope the artists with the hype will keep the hard work to come up with new ideas at decent price for real collectors.
And when talking about DRAN, I was talking about the quality of the handfinished works he did, no making any comparaison between the activity of both artists. Please don't mix everything up.
I hope I made myself clear enough

I agree with you on this release. It’s not an artwork, or a print of an artwork, it’s a f’n map. The hand finishing is a gimmick with low/no artistic merit. 1k for this is a cash grab.
However overall invader is an artist that looks after the cash-strapped fans : plenty of new art in the street, an app for your phone, regular affordable easy to get releases of screen-printed shirts, stickers etc...

I think some artists stick to keeping the art affordables, Shepard Fairey for instance with numbered prints at low cost and some higher costs on the HPM or specific events (30 years of his carreer) I don't blame them for making money but I blame them for making art for investors rather than collectors. You can find such good prints from 35USD but now the artists are surfing on the hype and are asking for 1.000€ so easily. Thanks Forbidden Love for the correction on who make the handfinish I agree with you on this release.

Invader Djerba Map , by Lroy on Jan 6, 2021 12:32:53 GMT 1, I think you totally misunderstood what I said. I hope I made myself clear enough I was not attacking you too
Well an handfinished print could be a bit lazy , too, taking the same figure in different places, or just drawning anything else in the corner of the print... It's just print. Not an activity. But I understand, maybe this one was ot so easy to handfinish it..
It's true that it is expensive and that artists does not care about their first or last fans ( apart Banksy and HIs GDP - but how hard was to get something -) , this is why we buy poster, cd or tickets instead of prints !
For the investment market, you are right ! The fault of professional art investors, speculators rather, producers - can we name them artists of art/tats/plush/toys, ) of goodies, of galeries on line or not, fake bidders, all a mafia market that is spoiling street-art since 1 or 2 years ! Paul Insect that I like a lot, has now big prices, and I hope to buy one day one of his Clockworth Brittain.
The good thing to buy at the moment, is to buy old prints as POW ones, Dolk, etc...
I regret too that the only market that we can afford now ( Dran is not cheap as well, and you must reckon - or not ;-) - that embossed Invader and Pins ones are the geastest actually ) , is all this Banksy ephemerals, that are at crazy prices too.
Hopebully new artists - not forcely Banksy copycats - are still interesting to discover. That's why I like L13, per example. Cool ones - even if some are not anymore so much youngs - in the mind of street-art and revolution !

I did try to search an UPS store around the area and they are all freaking dodgy with 1 star review...
You scored one ? I did not know

What is a signed card ? Ahhh the postcard ! Well guys and ladies, Invader is shipping right now the last stickers and tees. Will VAT applied for U.K. or US members ?

Yeah French can help ... but what about the shipping and VAT ? I’m obsessed with that since Brexit !!!
