I'm a huge fan of Jeff Gillette and Banksy. I wanted to get your thoughts on these new Gillette stencil paintings. As you all know Banksy got the inspiration and help from Gillette for Dismaland, from his Dismayland show. Gillette did an unofficial collab from his Mickey Mouse and Banksy's CND soldiers on canvas. I actually really like them. Any Thoughts?

I was actually at his studio about 2 weeks ago and he was showing me them. They were pretty amazing! I think the fact Banksy took a major influence of his style allows Gillette to use a playoff of one Banksy design haha

That must have been an amazing experience being in his studio, I remember a long time back going to an event called Hackney WICKed which was open artists studios and it was incredible seeing all of their work before being tamed down after receiving feedback from potential galleries who wanted to exhibit the work.
That's not a bad shout about getting in touch but I just can't at the moment. I forgot how I come here and end up leaving just wanting to buy buy buy...

I think that was in reference to his show Dismayland which was before Dismaland. I read that he stated Dismaland was the best thing to happen to his career by a long shot.

I think that was in reference to his show Dismayland which was before Dismaland. I read that he stated Dismaland was the best thing to happen to his career by a long shot.

Only interviews told you after about that part.. He doesn't really rely on anyone as he has made his own style and that's what got him to Banksyโs attention.
I think artists should play around with their styles (as long as its actually good haha), as Banksy does all the time. He said he was just doing this CND soldier one for fun as he does a lot of graphic manipulation for fun on social media.

Realistically all banksy did was ask him to participate in his show. He didn't promote his name that much or have any connection to being the inspiration for the event.
