That IS interesting and not something I’d considers if I’m honest. The way they’ve posted updates today it is made to appear as though the process has been done today sequentially and I assumed onto the pre-shaped decks themselves directly.
This was the preceding photo published during a few hours earlier.

That’s really interesting and I love learning from you guys. Thanks so much for all that info and, absolutely, I made an assumption based largely on my complete lack of comprehension about the full screen printing process.
Side note, the finished result looks great and there’s going to be some very happy owners. Just gutted it won’t be me!

Not that hard to screen a skateboard with the right setup.
The decks are pressed, dipped and then screened.

That special screen solves the nose and tail, but I imagine the sides being even trickier. You'd probably need to custom shape the squeegee to make it work well, and the mesh would also need to be flexible enough.

It can be done with a very basic setup too.
I might be able to find a pic of my old homemade press.
I made some 7 color decks years back....was a ton of work but they came out really cool.

It will ultimately be around 1 cm distance from the screen (the snap) so would be raised in some way and also held firmly in place to prevent slippage as paint/medium is pulled over it
