Christie's Art Auctions , by guest2 on Sept 11, 2008 13:32:18 GMT 1, still a good amount of profit there. I did remember someone on here a few months back trying to sell a set, think we wanted around the same as it sold. will try and see if i can find the post.
Depends on what he/she paid for them I guess. I think sets have traded hands for alot more than this i the past.

Christie's Art Auctions , by Deleted on Sept 11, 2008 13:34:52 GMT 1, very true. Would be quite a blow if he was not the orignal buyer. Oh well, serves him right for buying a load of banksy's that were not for his/her wall.

Christie's Art Auctions , by master on Sept 11, 2008 13:36:12 GMT 1, I don't think they cost more then £500.00 each, so that will give him nice £23.000 profit. Most people earn that in a year...

I think you would have to be mad to spend more than that on them TBH. In fact, I think the seller got a good price for them. They aren't good Banksy images - the only good thing is the fact that they are PP's...but big deal.
You could pick up an oringinal for almost the same price. Or a couple of older signed pieces...Laugh Now...Christ With Shopping...etc.
I know what I would rather have!

Christie's Art Auctions , by Ruggs on Sept 11, 2008 15:31:29 GMT 1, Pleased to see Dolk's Last Mona achieve £750. But, I think it'll be a while yet before people are wiling to pay that sort of money regularly for one. Example, Burger King!

Christie's Art Auctions , by lee3 on Oct 19, 2008 15:50:43 GMT 1, This kicks off in about 30 minutes and is undoubtedly the strongest sale of the week with them looking for around £50m on the low end. Pdp had a pretty rough go of things yesterday and that is what happens to the smaller houses with lesser works in times like this. I will be surprised if Christie's doesn't hit their low target as there are some real gems in this sale. It will be interesting to see whether the Prince nurse painting can keep that kind of price tag and whether the large Richter finds a buyer. I love the Freud's as well as the Warhol double Marilyn and I have a slight preference (mostly because of pulls) for the marilyn reversal 9 times not that i could afford any of them. It's still fun to day dream. This one continuously updates just like Sotheby's the other night.
Here is the catalog
www.christies.com/LotFinder/searchresults.aspx?intSaleID=21538#action=refine&intSaleID=21538&sid=5ed4c743-8218-43c7-b77d-5a4a1b59ab3c
And the results will show up here once things kick off:

No urban art of this generation offered in this sale though there is a knock out green Basquiat, Desmond, for sale that should take out its high estimate with ease.

Christie's Art Auctions , by lee3 on Oct 19, 2008 17:08:55 GMT 1, 26 of 47 lots found buyers for 32m, not so good. The Hirst sale was clearly the top. a set of Mao prints went for half of what they went for 6 months ago. Lot's of beautiful work was passed over and like every other market in the world at the moment, the buyer as opposed to the seller is king again. Expectations must be lowered though the problem for many is that debts can not be.
