Christie's Art Auctions , by its all about me on May 30, 2024 12:11:25 GMT 1, Yes, I got that e-mail as well. I agree. It does sound serious. I'm rather concerned that hackers now have a copy of my passport. What does this actually mean in real life? Can the hackers open a bank account or take out a credit card in my name without me realising? How do we know you are who you say you are? Not sure what you're getting at?
Are you suggesting I might be the hacker himself?

Christie's Art Auctions , by topper on May 30, 2024 13:55:13 GMT 1, Rather serious security breech at Christie's. Hackers have all users passport details (except photo and signature). Seems far worse than Christie's are letting on. Yes, I got that e-mail as well. I agree. It does sound serious. I'm rather concerned that hackers now have a copy of my passport. Lets face it, if you're a scammer it doesn't get much better than passport details. I'm surprised they keep the file and don't just carry out the relevant checks and delete it.

This could be a clusterfuck ! True, it would make more sense/be safer for sensitive info like this to be kept as a printed hard copy only and filed, then deleted from the computer, but HMRC insist.

Christie's Art Auctions , by Wanchope on May 30, 2024 14:52:08 GMT 1, Yes there are a lot of things wrong with HMRC and quite often their auditors don't even know the exact requirements! I should know as I have one or two audits on my company and if I ask a simple question they say "it's up to your interpretation" WTAF so I would say, but we don't want any comeback/fines in the future ever so please just tell me what HMRC want and I got the same response each time, almost as if they want to leave it ambiguous for you to slip up .......
