More coverage for sellers?
Worldwide publicity?
If you want something, you will keep an eye & bid, no need to travel.
Seems Christies is the better auction imo

Seems a bit late to still have nothing much up for viewing. Auctions start in less than 2 weeks. Am I nutty to think that?

My own question would be the opposite:
Why would such a sale not be online only?
__________
Bear in mind we're talking about Christie's. This isn't some third-tier house like Dreweatts.
Has there actually ever been a live auction by Christie's dedicated to a single artist before?
Moreover, the sale doesn't even cover unique originals by Banksy, i.e. his most prestigious works. It's for "the street artist’s editions". That means prints for the most part, including perhaps unsigned versions.
Query too how many Banksy prints could be auctioned together live — one after the other, after the other, after the other — before salesroom interest waned and bidders' eyes started to glaze over.
Maybe 30? Possibly 45 if the auction house ill-advisedly decided to test the room's patience? [Longer sales require greater variety (in terms of both pieces and artists) and changes in tempo to retain audience attention. In this respect, the auctioneer's performance is comparable to the set of a DJ.]
Now consider the total sales figure likely to be achieved by such a niche event. Even on a good day in September, I suspect it would reach little more than £1,000,000–£1,500,000. As a very crude guess, that's probably around half of what Christie's requires before it deems a London or New York Prints & Multiples live sale to be successful.

Sotheby's look be be using the cheap estimate gimmick but there's big differences in the condition/sheet sizes
Must have been painful for the owner of the signed one when they realise how expensive that framing advice was 😨🙈

Could well be - will see if they feature in the Sotheby’s auction.

With as bad as brexit has made the pound plus possible high tariffs coming down the pike... Unlikely

Christie's Art Auctions , by JJN on Sept 3, 2019 23:24:15 GMT 1, I am guessing we will see a lot of duplication. It'll be fun to see which house wins if there are direct comps. I wonder if the grappling hook will appear in both auctions. It will depend on condition as well. Can't see a Grappling Hook in both there were only 26 of them I dont see graplling hook in either auction am I missing something ?
