Christie's Art Auctions , by Deleted on Feb 22, 2020 9:33:33 GMT 1, Out of curiosity, what does this statement mean: Artist's Resale Right ("Droit de Suite"). Artist's Resale Right Regulations 2006 apply to this lot, the buyer agrees to pay us an amount equal to the resale royalty provided for in those Regulations, and we undertake to the buyer to pay such amount to the artist's collection agent. Do they pay Banksy a royalty on auction sales these days? Believe it's 4% due to the artist on any auction sale over £1,000 (the percentage decreases for higher sale prices). I thought this was paid by the auction house, rather than the buyer, but I've never bought anything at auction so no first hand experience.

The Trolleys was dry mounted and the Mary had some loss of media on the front of the print from creasing, I was going to have a bid on these and I’m normally much more relaxed than most with condition issues but these were both really bad examples.

Christie's Art Auctions , by LJCal on Mar 4, 2020 22:34:03 GMT 1, Yeah I was surprised they offered them in the condition they did. Certainly the Toxic Mary could have benefited from restoration given how particular Banksy collectors are about condition. There’s not much that could be done for the Trolleys though.

BANKSY (B. 1975) Trolleys (colour) screenprint in colors, on Somerset paper, 2007, signed in pencil, numbered 140/750, published by Pictures on Walls, London, with full margins, adhered to the support on the reverse sheet edges, otherwise in good condition, framed
BANKSY (B. 1975) Toxic Mary screenprint in colors, on wove paper, 2003-2004, signed and dated '04' in pencil, numbered 127/150 (there was also an unsigned edition of 600), published by Pictures on Walls, London, with their blindstamp, with margins, occasional flattened horizontal creases in places (some with minor ink loss), framed

I reckon you would have been in for £24-25k and I don’t think after restoration it’s worth much more than that.

Could that have been caused by the screening process? I feel like a lot of the earlier prints have similar characteristics.
I'll have to inspect my unsigned when i get home.

No I have seen media loss from screening (I sold a print like that recently), that is caused by creases probably from being stored rolled I would guess.

Are you high or trying to buy from someone or worse still bought this print and are in denial lol. The print was dry mounted meaning glued permanently to a support. I’m picking up this same print tomorrow for £21k in good condition and it sold for £18k! Do you not think I and many other people would have bid this up if it was in better condition.

You don’t have a clue about banksy prints... those was £35 when done,
Those are in perfect conditions, spend $200 to removed the tape at the back and you have nice banksy prints and very good price, Lynette you own one similar and you are not happy with results.

Why are you arguing they’re in perfect condition when even the condition report says they’re not?
