Christie's Art Auctions , by jp226 on Sept 21, 2020 21:29:36 GMT 1, Pretty quiet on the Christie lots. Wonder if will see some intense last minute bidding? I think there’s a fairly good chance. The last few minutes at Sotheby’s was like the last dash in supermarket sweep - mental. Yeah, curious to see the correlation with the US market being down today?

Yeah HMV also looks like it’s got plenty left in it.

Christie's Art Auctions , by theclash on Sept 23, 2020 10:30:16 GMT 1, Would be super interesting if prices don’t ramp up in the end. I think that would scare a lot of people and we see a flood of sellers.
If we get similar action to Sotheby’s then feels like these prices are real and have further to run.
My view is they have further to run given the amount of money being printed and increasingly fewer places to invest securely.

I just read all the condition reports and the LA Morons is not in the best condition: 6cm vertical crease in the left margin, tape marks on the back and sold framed, maybe why it is a bit cheaper.

No one cares anymore, this Hockney Pools sold for a record £52k and it was dry mounted. The rich can't be bothered with it. The LIITA at Sothebys actually looked great, flat, no visible scratches etc or creases, the owner will hang it on the walls and show it off.

I just read the Flag report and I don't see how they can say the print is very good condition, zooming in it has loads of scratches pretty much going the length of the print, also vertically on both sides!
