Its a lot quieter than I think we were all expecting. Some good results and some bargains going on here.

I wonder if those bidding on the Grannies thought it was the Hand Sprayed.

The current Banksy buyers are savvy, they know the market, no-one is overpaying anymore (unless they are newbs)

Given the complete lack of last second interest in everything but the grannies, and the innuendo that all the big time buyers bid at the last second, I think it’s fair to say that the big buyers have moved on from banksy to beeple.

It will be interesting to see if the higher estimates at Christie’s make for higher bids, there are definitely some disappointing results going on here.

Let me see would I want a signed CND or a an unsigned Toxic Mary? Ridiculous prices on some things. I genuinely feel sorry for some people who bought the Sotheby's hype of low estimates means they will do really well - not so much.

Yeah, disappointing results for such a class A auction house. But it means, as LJ said, this is the new standard. Am pretty certain we are going to find a lot of prints on the market now that prices have stabilized. People are going to want to cash out

Sure, but given the bold statements before and just after bidding started it seems to be a bit of an anti-climax!
