When did you buy your Banksy (print/original)?, by JockoLad on Aug 30, 2020 10:54:15 GMT 1, Interested to find out when people bought the Banksy prints/originals that they own. Are there many people left who bought them from source?

When did you buy your Banksy (print/original)?, by Momo on Aug 30, 2020 12:08:06 GMT 1, 2010,2011 and 2019 The first two have hit the point that I thought I would sell at ,that I predicted 10 years ago but Now will hold
Quick question for those with nothing in this value range but if they are originals how do you go about insurance etc? Like do you reassess the value every year? Are your premiums massive? Have you a fire proof safe for them? Do your friends and family know about them or have you kept them secret over last few years?
I understand that this might seem overkill to most but it is an unbelievably huge value in art where I'm from and just curious.

Specialist insurance broker for collections. Premium is fairly cheap (for what I’m insuring, which isn’t at the upper end of values). I have everything on my walls but I’ve read on here of people using specialist art storage. Insurance usually covers a set amount which can be increased/decreased depending upon value fluctuations. I did not have to specify the exact works being insured.
A good few people know about my collection however I do get increasingly worried as values continue to rise that we get targeted for a burglary. Art registered in my name with POW and have COAs so hope that this would help prevent re-sale.

Can I ask who you use/recommend Jockolad for your insurance?
Finding my Aviva cover not ideal, so any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Apologies to derail the thread.

I use Hiscox. Give them a call and see what they have to offer. I hold the policy over and above my home and contents insurance. Don’t mind paying that bit extra for peace of mind.

Thanks, Mammal. Hadn’t realised that was the background of LAZ. Were sales of Banksy’s work initially made via PYMCA?
Everyday is a learning opportunity...
