Looking for original GDP Rat / advice on authentication, by juveniled on Sept 3, 2020 16:40:23 GMT 1, Hi there,
I would love some advice from some of the very knowledgable members here:
I'm looking to buy an original GDP Rat that was given out outside the GDP pop up.
How do I authenticate one of these prints and avoid getting scammed?
What price is currently fair?
Also, If you happen to have an original one for sale in good condition - in the London area, I could arrange a pro art shipping company for collection / payment so all transparent and easy.
I'm sure there is some of the authentication subject covered in other threads but I could not seem to find.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Looking for original GDP Rat / advice on authentication, by jp226 on Sept 3, 2020 19:02:06 GMT 1, The GDP rat was silkscreened on a very light weight newsprint. Real ones, will have an embossing effect on the back of the print from the inks.
I'd recommend buying one of these from a well respected forum member or gallery. Try to get as much documentation as possible --- photos from GDP event, Croydon parking tickets, train tickets, written proof of provenance from seller. The more documentation, that better. Avoid eBay if you can.
Pretty sure there have been some popping up in the UAA sales forum.
Im sure other members can chime-in and give you some more food for thought.
As for pricing, these seem to be on the up and up. The last several have gone from between $1K - $1500.

If any established forum members have one for sale, i'd love to purchase. Can arrange art shippers to collect with cash in London area.
Thanks!
