Isn't it just kind of like a spin off of Lichtenstein's comic book stuff? I always wonder why people wouldn't just buy a Lichtenstein, at least it's semi-original and imo much better in the classic sense. Even some of Pose's work is heavily influenced by Lichtenstein but in the case of Pose at least there is much more originality in comparison to D*Face. Some things I guess I'll just never understand. Though it has made me go back and appreciate studying the history of art and especially the founding fathers of pop art like Lichtenstein. I agree, Pose does this kind of stuff better and I get what you're saying but "just buy a Lichtestein"? Not up to date on Lichtenstein pricing but I guess it's the extra zeroes at the end that scares people off..

However, if anyone wants to pay homage to the originator of comicesque art and a founding father of pop art I recently picked up some beautiful original Lichtenstein Guggenheim posters from 1969 and some Warhol Marilyn posters from 1992 at an auction. They are both way out of print and I'm going to drop maybe four sets for like $225+ s/h a set if anyone is interested. I will post pics later. I should have them next week. Just thought I'd offer these to forum members first as it is a steal of a price. Go ahead and check, cause I know you will. |
