Finished. Billionaires Lives Matter Prints, by Glass-Siren-Studio on Sept 15, 2020 15:19:01 GMT 1, Finally got there!
I'd had a few Dm's on these so i'll contact everyone later today with details once the print run is complete.
This is the first one off the press that just quickly photographed outside.
There are approximately 7 layers of hand applied inks in these. I needed to do this to get the defintion into the background of the prints. They have turned out nicely..... Especially with the metalics on the typography..... I'll try and get some better photographs before the day is out....

Tone deaf doesn't begin to describe it. Says the guy on an art forum that is mainly for hyping/discussing/buying/selling pieces of worthless paper for obscene values of money.

Not at all. I'd tried to update the thread and completey buggered it up so thought i'd do a new one. Which i will update later as i've got another version of it in gold finshed last night as well.... It was raining outside so couldn't do the photographs.
I'm certainly not making any attempt to hide it.... I wouldn't have bothered posting up the finished prints if that was the case would i?.........

I think when you appropriate iconic images and terms from a human rights movement then some context is needed.
Will any of the proceeds go to the blm movement?
At the moment there is no difference for me between seeing this and someone wearing a tee that says all lives matter, both I find rather offensive.

You are perfectly entitled to not like the art, but have you also taken into consideration any alternate interpretations that could be made ?
For example, when you think about the fact that
- the majority of people are negatively affected by a global pandemic
- the planet is now constantly on fire
- everyday whole populations are persecuted and displaced
- etc etc etc...
yet in the last few months the total wealth of the top 25 people on this planet (who already own circa 50% of earths riches) has increased by over 220 billion USD (source Oxfam)...
...it's almost as if, in this system, only "Billionaire's lives matter".
I don't like this image ,i find it lacking in depth, execution, aesthetics... but the prerogative of the Artist is to explore and appropriate and create, so I am happy that it exists.
I don't think the BLM movement is in any way affected by it

But my view on this piece is that it is utterly utterly crass. Even if there is some clever point being made, it’s entirely drowned out by the overtones of bad taste and poor syntax, not to mention minimal artistic merit.
