Retna in Mexico , by brownbuffalo13 on Oct 7, 2020 1:17:52 GMT 1, some of his lettering and works before he went to Mexico were looking pretty rushed or lazy or better said more loose. these latest works he's been posting are much better and it even looks like there is an Arabic influence on some of these new works. the works feel looser then some of his older works, where it felt like the text was saying so much that he was really tightening the words and text onto the canvas, these don't have that same feel. either way, feels nice to see his recent posts not calling people out or talking shit, hopefully he's getting into a better head space in mexico.

Itโs an alphabet that he made up. Each piece says something, with each symbol representing a letter or number. I donโt know what letter/number each symbol is but I have compared titles of different pieces and the symbols are consistent with specific letters/numbers.

some of his oldest graff pieces got buffed in the last month or two, but i don't think it was done by the city, that piece with revok and dame on 7th and santa fe that had easily been there a decade got painted over, but it was only his piece that got painted over. they later redid the entire thing a week or two later but at first only his piece got buffed. same thing on Beverly, the piece with the frida character got buffed, but only his piece. that one also was around for about a decade.
