my Lockdown Free eCommerce software, by voodoo1967 on Oct 11, 2020 10:08:37 GMT 1, Sat here in the UK in Lockdown Ive been helping out some friends try and move their business online dragging them kicking and screaming in the 21st century (just about). I posted before about the software I use - but wanted to add some details they have changed that makes it easy and free to start selling online (they say within 5 minutes - more like 10 minutes in reality)
Basically ecommerce widgets - create an account (free) , create your products (free) in my case mainly artists selling prints. Create a payment option (paypal or apple pay in my case - also free). Then paste 5 lines of text into a webpage and your new online is there.
The killer bit to this update though is the following -
Your customers can use Apple pay - so they checkout with a fingerprint or faceid - no need for a credit card. Your shop can be viewed and products purchased direct from FaceBook, Instagram,Twitter etc And for covid there is now a gift card option (great for anyone doing xmas cards) thye buy a gift card for x amount - and then send the code / card to a friend to pick something in the future.
I thought the above may just help those out there that are struggling and trying to change the way they work to be more 'onlinesy'. I am using the new Apple Pay option on a couple of new sites - I'll report back later when I can see measure the increase in apple pay checkouts - ecwids (ecommerce widgets) demo / more info here ecwids
