UK buyer looking for some Banksy bits.. , by urbanflik on Oct 18, 2020 19:43:51 GMT 1, I've been put onto that lazemporium site too.... What's people's thoughts on that website. Is it a bit overpriced...
Find what you want on his site and then post on here..members will likely have these items a little cheaper.

Agree with irll1 on this, try and make sure you pick one up with the original Dont Panic envelope.

UK buyer looking for some Banksy bits.. , by J6507G on Oct 19, 2020 14:17:09 GMT 1, So... Only right to keep yous all updated since you have all been good enough to comment and give some great advice.. Even sending me some links of bits for sale... Its very much appreciated. I now have 2 posters, the Palestine one and the trespass poster.. I have a bit of my original budget left.. And while the hotel visit is definately a great shout, and one we could look at when if it opens again... I'm thinking another piece. But after being totally drawn into this website and seeing some of the great pieces, I'm tempted to throw in a wild card for him... And move away from Banksy,, this one can't be more than 1k very very max... And hopefully a bit of a speculative buy... (I've had a couple of dm's of people saying I'm buying at highs price wise for Banksy, but I don't mind because I know he'll really appreciate them) any ideas please.. Think along the lines of. If you had 1000 to spend on something to enjoy but then in 10 years you had to sell it... Where would your money be spent... Don't say stocks n shares or savings.

Not to be overly pessimistic, but I would be wary of any advice that could guarantee an item bought for less than ยฃ1k holding its value in ten years time, let alone making any money.
Your other option is to frame the posters youโve bought to conservation standards so he can enjoy them for years to come. Definitely choose UV protective (99%), and if youโre feeling fancy can go for low reflective glass. MrFrameman would be a cost effective option for these.

If you had 1000 to spend on something to enjoy but then in 10 years you had to sell it... Where would your money be spent... Don't say stocks n shares or savings. Think I would be careful depending on his circumstances of overdoing the poster/prints as from experience framed up properly they take up more space than you might anticipate. If he has his own house then great but if he's still at home and just the one room then space could an issue if anything like my lads. Also, remember framing costs as to frame to a decent standard are going to cost you a few hundred pounds as well. Think the Banksy route is probably the most solid hope for investment in 10 years but seeing as you have those covered my temptation would be a decent watch that is of enough value and quality to maybe appreciate over time but could also be worn regular enough to make it practical. If however it's definitely prints you are after my lads are in their late teens and they like the Martin Whatson's I have but his prices have jumped recently and it may be a bit of a bubble that doesn't last but who knows! Anything on his hobbies that you could try and relate the actual picture to?

Can you advise rough framing costs please.... As your right. I didn't factor that in.

Just a ballpark figure, the palestine could end up a little less, the soup cans a little more etc.

Why not get him something from one of the other artists shown in Exit Through The Gift Shop then? You can get something real nice of Shepard Fairey for 1k, probably something Invader related, etc.
Personally, I would stay away from Mr Brainwash, but that's just a preference I guess

I was thinking something of an unknown to him. To hopefully get him doing a bit of research.... Honestly its hard work to get him motivated about anything, but he seems to have got a bit of a bug for it all... But your suggestion isn't a bad idea. ๐ค

UK buyer looking for some Banksy bits.. , by John The Badgers on Oct 19, 2020 15:52:23 GMT 1, I'm with Medichead, Mister Frame Man a great recommendation, if you mention it came from people on here, I'm sure Gary will look after you.
Can I add some nice books out there Jono2200?
I too wanted to gain interest/knowledge in all aspects of things on here, and found some great books to help with this?
Might be good for his research, he can then discover who he likes and off you go.
I'm with Medichead, Mister Frame Man a great recommendation, if you mention it came from people on here, I'm sure Gary will look after you.
Can I add some nice books out there Jono2200?

UK buyer looking for some Banksy bits.. , by vernaxley on Oct 19, 2020 16:11:56 GMT 1, Buy your son 20 Banksy screen prints from the West Country Prince and let him enjoy the images that drove this forum into existence in the first place. It's as close as you'll get to the real thing. Buy them direct, not on the secondary market. At around ยฃ50 each they are supremely better value than any of the other Banksy souvenirs currently being sold at very spikey prices.

UK buyer looking for some Banksy bits.. , by inefficiencyof on Oct 19, 2020 16:26:09 GMT 1, A bit of a curve ball, and maybe even more curvier due to current climate about travel restrictions and ethics of travelling. But nothing I enjoy more than a weekend city break to explore street art / graffiti in another city / country.
I donโt recall seeing where you are from, but exploring cities like London, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam for street art and their respective galleries is a great way to learn more about the culture of urban art whilst opening eyes to potential new artists too.
Would be within the budget and could even grab a print / poster from a gallery at the same time. Imo The opportunity and Life Experience is equally valuable than pretty pictures on paper. ๐๐ป

UK buyer looking for some Banksy bits.. , by Lroy on Oct 19, 2020 16:29:18 GMT 1, I just found this rarest tee this week-end ( I remember when I ordered it, it was their last ones before they close, and decided to sell off their stock of tees, around 10 or 20 . Nice facebook mates from Brizzle in the 2000... )... Isthisthefuture...
Sorry for the photo, I am not at home and even with keywords, hard to find a pic !
