Harland Miller Poster f*ck dancing , by irl1 on Oct 26, 2020 16:44:37 GMT 1, We can see your new, so was this guy just a few days ago ..... No profile because I made an account just to sell these stickers to make some cash. Have never made an account on eBay before, bought or sold anything, so hence the zero stars. Don't collect buy or sell (until now) this kind of art. Basically these stickers were a lucky find for me - I work in the art world and was at a charity shop abroad. A book caught my eye on some artist from the 80s for 25 cents. Brought the book home and flipped through the pages and these three stickers fell out. They looked like banksy to me, did some research, and voila, found out they were worth something. Did some authenticity research to distinguish between fakes based on print quality and adhesive backing and these are the real deal. In any case sold two of them (vermin and americans) for a nice chunk of change to a collector, so those two are off the table. ----------------------- *shrugs* Didn't say I found them in Shoreditch.. they were in a book I found in Spain. Believe it or not, doesn't really matter to me. ----------------------- Did some authenticity research to distinguish between fakes based on print quality and adhesive backing and these are the real deal. ----------------------- urbanartassociation.com/thread/167042/3x-original-banksy-stickers-saleStrange how most of the finds on here in the last few months happen to be by top artists Regarding the finds Most of the items found were just items collectors would buy and were of no value at the time and people just bought for their collection and most likely not displayed and thrown in a box or drawer , there was no secondary market value at the time now values have risen people are checking their collections I have 10 Bristol Banksy posters that to be honest did not look appealing but they were ยฃ5 at the time each bought to swap but at the time were not popular fast Forward to day they are ยฃ300 each Checking my old messages I had a soup can poster and firebomb poster which tried to sell at ยฃ150 each but did not sell luckily as only a selected few back then collected the lower tier items , now all these items are collectible and have value I'm not saying all are bull, but two new users both finds in Spain. Harland Miller Poster f*ck dancing , by Horatio Nelson on Oct 26, 2020 17:05:16 GMT 1, I canโt speak for Spanish charity shops, but I do believe that bargain finds happen. Back in uni days, I bought a poster off eBay for ยฃ5 (19th century design advertising books), later sold it at Christieโs for several hundred after the V&A authenticating it to be an original from late 1800s.
The Miller looks great, but being unsigned is unlikely to be an original.

That said, all that glitters is not gold.
PS: moreover the lady did not try to sell it for what it's not, actually she didn't try to sell it at all

Harland Miller Poster f*ck dancing , by John The Badgers on Oct 26, 2020 19:52:13 GMT 1, Is it possible to actually buy these anywhere... Just as cheap everyday posters??? I love the 'dirty northern bastards' one, which I saw during my browsing... Or are they strictly kept to official prints???
Cant beat a classic bit of Miller Lisab, a great item you have there, a bargain I reckon.
With you on the 'Dirty Northern Bastard', cant match your poster, but have my mug I bought from a nice fella on eBay -

If you want a legit Miller poster the York one is great and high quality for a poster. Although will cost a bit more than โฌ5 ๐

Harland Miller Poster f*ck dancing , by lisab on Oct 27, 2020 7:55:46 GMT 1, Sorry, no, just an average person... I would say 'normal', but that would probably cause offence, and looking at the replies some of you 'art lovers' have written - that's easily done! What's wrong with some of you? Can't anyone simply ask for advice, without being shot down as some sort of con artist? (excuse the pun). I guess the waspy ones are those who have paid more than they can afford for something not worth as much as they hoped ๐

Harland Miller Poster f*ck dancing , by Dahmer on Oct 27, 2020 14:37:52 GMT 1, As for haggling in a charity shop - Iโve done it once. I was about 21 and I popped in a charity shop in Suffolk, and I saw a embroidery of the Haywain in an ornate gold frame. It was ยฃ3 and I was literally broke, all I had to my name was the coins I had in my pocket - ยฃ1.72 so I haggled with them and I think they let it go to me because they saw how much I wanted it. 13 years later it has no frame as the glass got broke while moving house but it now lives in my bathroom on top of a shelf. I have some nice art in my collection and a few high ticket items but none of those hold any sort of sentimental feelings, so the moral is, haggle in the charity shop when itโs something you really really want!

Harland Miller Poster f*ck dancing , by lisab on Oct 27, 2020 15:01:34 GMT 1, Actually, I just googled Harland Miller, and amongst information about him popped up something about this site, so I thought it would be a good place to ask about it. Iยดm glad I did, as I have been given the information I need. I have had private messages from some of your members wanting to buy it, although as I have told them, it was never about selling it, and I am fully aware its probably not even worth as much as the postage nowadays. If your group is only for traders I suggest you contact your admin and make it more difficult to join !!!

This thread has made me chuckle, not sure what is wrong with some posters - it's a nice find even if not worth anything
FYI to those who have never haggled in a charity shop, I have, in fact I've haggled in Woolworths back in the day when I was a student (I got an Xbox hard drive for 35% off) on the flipside I've also successfully haggled in Celine too (30% a display purse) it's always worth opening to conversation

Harland Miller Poster f*ck dancing , by pjc on Oct 27, 2020 17:13:00 GMT 1, it's not for traders, you just get a lot of weird angry posts on here for some reason though, discussion about actual art doesn't seem to be most peoples goal! This thread has made me chuckle, not sure what is wrong with some posters - it's a nice find even if not worth anything FYI to those who have never haggled in a charity shop, I have, in fact I've haggled in Woolworths back in the day when I was a student (I got an Xbox hard drive for 35% off) on the flipside I've also successfully haggled in Celine too (30% a display purse) it's always worth opening to conversation Cizza - I want to go shopping with you! Damn - 30% off a Celine handbag is like $1000.00ish US - who knew you could haggle at the high end shops... Learn something new everyday, and on an art forum no less.

Harland Miller Poster f*ck dancing , by mojo on Oct 27, 2020 17:39:40 GMT 1, As a vinyl hunter Iโve walked away from many an Oxfam due to them and their over eager pricing. Some member of staff looking up the price from the Record Collector Price Guide behind the counter... keep it. Funny to see second hand Primark T-shirtโs in there with an asking price of twice what you could probably buy it for new these days. Primark may as well rename themselves Landfill since that's where it all ends up and most still with the labels on! In the last place I managed a few of the regulars were fashion stylists and photographers and their donations were amazing. I think you may have liked my old shop particularly when they'd just finished a sportswear shoot, I'd regularly get a delivery of limited edition Adidas product before it was even released! It really is down to who manages the shop and who and what they know about product.
