I thought it would be useful to have a post with general costs for framing. I know they depend on where you are and other factors but these would be general costs, maybe you can talk about your experience in your country.
If we consider three sizes: small (around 30 x 30 cm), Medium (around 60 x 60 cm) and big (around 100 x 100 cm). How much would you think would be the minimum cost to frame these sizes to the highest standards?

For a good frame to preservation standards by a good quality framer. But add another 50% for an excellent framer.

I often read the framing costs on here and am surprised at how expensive they are There are also lots of variables on the type of wood, matting vs floating, type of glass, etc. The ornate frames I used on some of my prefab77 pieces retail for $100/ft.
Even in a 10k + artwork, there are too many good options for 20 bucks a foot

I’ve done exactly that before. It’s not only just about the monetary value of a piece but how it’s displayed and enjoyed.
An incredible looking $125 print you wanted enough to wait for the drop and then clicked furiously to make sure they didn’t sell out first is going to suck in a $12 poster frame from Walmart.
Frame it up proper. Hang it. Enjoy it. Share it. Tell stories about it. Screw what anyone else thinks or says.

130£ seems unlikely to cover true conservation materials + labor involved in building a high end frame + mounting the print
I would think a high end framer would need to charge 3-4 times that in order to be profitable (of course this also depends on where he is located)
would be interesting to see a few pics of said frame. Close up of corners, back etc...can sometimes give a good Indication on what type of work was carried out

Plainish frame 86cm square with tru vue museum glass and full museum conservation board/mounting etc was £400. It;s usually the glass that bumps it up for me, but i do like plain frames

I have used Brampton Framing in the UK, they are able to supply a cut to size mount, backing (all conservational standard), and Museum glass for my postcards, all for circa £20-£25. Just use a 'standard' frame off eBay/Department store, and fit the bits to it. Here my Kate Moss post card I did recently -
As to my other prints, have always used Mister Frame Man who has always been spot on. Does vary quite a lot, and difficult to standardise prices, depends on the glass (Museum quite a premium), and perhaps other specifications you ask for.

My plan is to float mount it, surrounded by white mount. The frame is white as I feel a black frame here will distract from the black in the sticker. I the glass ordered is Tru vue.
When the gear turns up I'll post pics.

used the same site to frame these chaps this week. Made to measure frames and double mounts with UV acrylic. I have used photo corners and then taped them to the mount with some decent framing tape so in theory the prints can be removed easily as they aren't taped anywhere to the mount
okay it's nowhere near the quality and finish that I would get from dropping them to the framers but they are a fun set and all in it cost around £80 for all three frames.

Don't think they will let you down Artcave, I've ordered 3-4 times now, and always been right chuffed. The glass is top quality.
Would be good to see some pictures when you have finished.

I was also pleased with the colours I eventually went for (going for white over black). I'll definitely use them again and wouldn't say that glibly.
My only downside, which is small, is that I don't have one of those tru-vue stickers you get with tru-vue glass. The reason why I suppose is because I did the framing myself, I only ordered the parts to do so.
Here is it, Petrol Head (round version). All acid free and non invasive as mylar corners used.

Don’t sweat it as you don’t always get those stickers !!!

No glass involved there, though. Wouldn't say my framing is anywhere near professional level, but I enjoy doing it myself, and the results are good enough for me. All the frames here are mine except the Fridriks (centre right top)
