He is keen to assist people who genuinely want a Futura original in their collection, and will talk extensively with any potential buyer to see what type of thing they are looking for, budget etc and offer them several pieces that fall within that criteria. This limits the amount of loose images of unsold future work doing the rounds, as once pics are out in circulation, its rather tricky to regulate them. This has been requested by the artist himself.
The main thing he wishes to avoid is selling to someone who's main aim is to sell it straight on again, but is genuinely interested in placing Futura originals with people who want them on their walls. He is rather passionate about this topic and can be very thorough in his discussions before he is convinced that you, as a buyer are buying for yourself. As I said, that's his prerogative. There are not many Futura originals out there on the secondary market, and these remain sought after. Originalhead works to preserve that situation.
I hope he doesn't mind me writing this, but the tone was starting to develop into another pitchforks and flaming torches type of thing.

I'm sure he can and is genuine but it just doesn't come across to me but at least someone can vouch for him so all good.

I can also vouch for him. He has personal relationships with NYC taste makers, people who have been contributing to the culture since it's formative years. We live in the same neighborhood. I was invited into his home, shown several paintings, noticed pictures of him alongside Futura, and with other known artists, musicians, designers, etc. He's the real deal.

The air was filled with the scent of spray paint. The Clash rocked.

Futura was there and he was extremely friendly.
You could feel his legendary aura as he spoke to us about the past and present art he has created.
I asked him to tag a small painting that I bought on the forum a few years back and he gladly obliged and even offered to sign another item that I had with me. He was very engaging and seems to still love the game after all these years. The people who were running the event were handing out free Futura Posters and were also very engaging. I was very surprised & disapointed that the only art being offered for sale were 50 unique tagged phones for $350.00 but based on my experience with the artist and his posse it was still well worth the trip down to Chinatown in retrospect.
I went to the event this morning.

I was unsure of what the event actually entailed when I rolled up, so I was somewhat surprised to see that the work being displayed was made on the phones. Not in the market for a new cell, I spent my time chatting with Futura about his bowery wall (he's ready for another artist to paint over it, for something new. Apparently it was only supposed to be up 3 months but has been up much longer) and being on Anthony Bourdain's show. Didn't think to get him to tag anything, though I wish I had, but hanging with the man was a true pleasure.

Always doing great work and just saw the edition of 10 prints that are going to go fast. Detroit map in the background has my trigger finger itching.
