It's great they've asked to view it, but it is misleading to say that they think it is the real deal. PC operate on the basis that if there is any doubt, they will ask to view it.

Ive had a quick skim through some of the comments and there is so much negativity from a couple of people? No need for it really but thanks to all the other decent folk! Right... I first had a response from pest control just acknowledging the request. A few days later they asked for further detailed macro photographs of certain areas of the canvas to be sent to them. I have heard back from them today... Basically, they said due to the nature of the provenance they would like to have a look at it in person and put it in front of the artist. They said they shouldn't need to keep it for more than a few weeks. AND THATS IT... Absolutely no 'yes it's real' or 'sorry it's a total fake' at any point so right now i'm barely any further along to be honest. I will get it sent off and see what comes back and update those of you that are still interested that far along. I figure it will either come back with a certificate or shredded to make sure they never have to waste time looking at it again.

If there were only those five made then it's not real. As there are differences between the OPs and #4 above.
It looks similar to #4 but there are some differences, it looks like the same stencil but the placement is off. Might also be #2.
And as for @krsone 's rant. I've never heard of PCO asking to have a fake shipped back. Unless that's new?

But yes, someone could be stupid/smart enough to buy it on spec. If you've already got some Grotto showcards, maybe a couple of prints, then you can create your own backstory around a credible fake. Wait 5 years until this thread is long forgotten. Then you have can build your own story.

I would wager a bet this isnt your first time at the rodeo, and that you have another account, and you could allegedly been thinking about doing this for some years, but you didnt have the minerals to do it before, now that the Banksy market has gone mental its worth the punt. How many pm's have you received making you offers to buy it and a punt? And here is your red flag #5 -you still want put up a photo of the tag. And you are doing this with a straight-face? Pest control and Banksy have more class than to trick someone into sending something to them with the sole purpose of destroying it as a kind of conspiracy. If it was obviously fake like the large amount of fakes already out there they would just say it's not authentic in the email and save everyones time. Trying to rid the fakes one by one by requesting them to be sent to them would be like trying to drain the ocean by requesting people to send in a bottle at a time.
You may be doubtful but it's still definitely possible it could be real as very rare things do still occur. It's difficult to say for certain on if real or fake which is obviously why PC have requested the item to be sent in. It's best to be open minded for either possibility as I doubt you know more than PC and if it looks good to them, it's possible.
Hello again. 6 pages haha wow! Ive had a quick skim through some of the comments and there is so much negativity from a couple of people? No need for it really but thanks to all the other decent folk! Right... I first had a response from pest control just acknowledging the request. A few days later they asked for further detailed macro photographs of certain areas of the canvas to be sent to them. I have heard back from them today... Basically, they said due to the nature of the provenance they would like to have a look at it in person and put it in front of the artist. They said they shouldn't need to keep it for more than a few weeks. AND THATS IT... Absolutely no 'yes it's real' or 'sorry it's a total fake' at any point so right now i'm barely any further along to be honest. I will get it sent off and see what comes back and update those of you that are still interested that far along. I figure it will either come back with a certificate or shredded to make sure they never have to waste time looking at it again. Get real what they are really saying is, send it in to us at your expense, then they will tell you its fake, because they already know it is, and that they wont send it back and they are destroying it, as it is one less shite fake out there. It looked good to me and obviosuly turned out to be real despite peoples adamant doubts.
