Jonni Cheatwood new works for Untitled Art Fair Miami🤯, by kuni on Dec 1, 2020 0:00:18 GMT 1, I've been a fan of Jonni's since I was introduced to him on this forum. I have a handful of small works on paper and his print release from Mirus back in 2019. I get more compliments and questions about the Cheatwood pieces in my house than almost any others.
I love these new works, and great to see him continuing to evolve. He's got a unique style, and he seems to be staying true to his general aesthetic while still exploring. Thanks for posting, I hope to see a print release in the near future.

I've become a fan of Jonni since being introduced to him on this forum as well. Here are a few shots of my Cheatwood print on the wall. This was the special edition version which had a bunch of embossing on it. Ads a lot of texture to the print.
If I’m not mistaken, Charlie has a few incredible Cheatwood canvases.

Love that print, kuni👍🏻. Yep, lucky enough to have two good sized Cheatwood canvases. Gotta say, I love this new work from him. Incorporating more figurative elements really seems to work with his style.

Jonni Cheatwood new works for Untitled Art Fair Miami🤯, by Amber Halo on Dec 1, 2020 19:31:38 GMT 1, Nice works, but any concerns about it being too derivative of Eddie Martinez? I tend to shy away from work that reminds me of another artist almost instantly.

That's interesting, I think I was drawn to his work because I'm a big fan of Eddie's work so while I can see there being some resemblance I also feel like Jonni's developing a style that's his own. His use of mixed media also helps to differentiate. But it's a fair point and it's something of a grey area (See: Nara and Calleja)
