The Good Old Days - post your pictures , by Dexter Bulldog on Dec 3, 2020 15:53:26 GMT 1, Seems a few members won. My mate won the draw also, in fact he won both there Banksy and Micallef draws. I was not so lucky - I framed it for him at the time, I assume he still has it. Think I did a fair job with all conservation materials from Lion, shame the frame wasn't as white as the board and print, hopefully it's still mint for him. nice job, but is it me, or do the frame and the print look the same color, justt he matte board thats ultra white?

The Good Old Days - post your pictures , by robo on Dec 8, 2020 16:15:05 GMT 1, I remember the POW show with the draw for the Banksy 'Very Little Helps' print. Traveled down on the train with a mate, got to the venue and joined the queue. Got there quite early but there was already a long line of people. Very slow progress queuing. My mate gave up and went home without seeing the show once we realised you didn't have to queue to enter the draw. I stayed and did get to see the show. Stand out from the show was the Bast 'Popeye' prints. Each one was hand customised by Bast. It was bitterly cold and was very disappointing to see Kevin Spacey come out of the hotel opposite POW and to be ushered past the queue of us ordinary plebs and escorted straight in by one of the POW team. My mate won the draw and bought the 'Very Little Helps' print. I didn't win the lottery, though my friend did and still has her VLH.
I did buy a customised Popeye with lots of pink paint splurges (and a glitter Mickey) - still have those!

Then spent the rest of the day/winter round the corner at Cordy House Mutate Britain...huge collection of graff and sculpture care of Joe Rush & crew, the parties were pretty good too

I didnt bother buying it as "850 quid for an unsigned wasn't worth it"... ๐ซ hindsight huh!

The Good Old Days - post your pictures , by rrrich on Feb 21, 2021 19:06:41 GMT 1, I got there early and into the queue for an hour at most. My (now) wife picked up the Eelus print of the angel image from Cans and I got a Kelsey Brooks handfinished print, as well as entering the raffle - got lucky too and getting it reframed soon. I remember getting the bus home, tube in hand, all excited to see it. Used to pass the original on the bus to work everyday so a special one
I remember seeing Kevin Spacey turn up and get ushered to the front of the queue to spend some cash (that's around when he was rumoured to have bought the entire Paul Insect show in Kings Cross.

Its all about the hindsight I was too stubborn to buy from flippers. Even, when I really wanted a print and it was still affordable from flippers I would not buy it. I also remember thinking that I would be able to pick one up again or get lucky in the next release and it never happened.

The Good Old Days - post your pictures , by veetee on Feb 22, 2021 0:56:06 GMT 1, The good old days, the days I don't remember because I was more than likely stomping out of a rave at god knows what time of the morning and heading to an after party in the dark depths of South London. I'd love to say I was there, but I simply didn't know about these events, or buying prints and wasn't into it all back then... *violin* Similar experience here, although I went to a few Banksy things I didn't buy anything as I'd rather have spent the money on a few pints (or other things). Priorities, eh.
Yeh same. I mean I loved seeing it on the streets, I even caught the shows (so many more than I remembered after going through the old photos), but I never bought a single thing. Partly cause I didnโt think of it and partly cause I didnโt want to spend the limited dosh I had on โpostersโ, but no problem if it was at a bar! Yep priorities back then-ha!
