Never tried an auction but from what i can gather with my basic french is that opening bids on the lots are all the low point of the estimate.
So for example the artwork is estimated โฌ10000-โฌ20000 and the minimum bid you can make is โฌ10000.
Apologies if this is the norm but as i said never gone down the auction route

I have to agree, best catalogue I've had in hands for quite some time. Artcurial has really raised their game for that Auction. Very much looking forwards to it !

Personally, I didn't mind the crease, I have several wonderful pieces by other artists on cardboard with creases, dings and such. What put me off in the end was that the LIITA is just one piece of an original installation consisting of three works. It did not feel quite right for that kind of money. The CH was really nice and the original mural is my personal favorite. Would have liked to see it go for more. |
