Nuno Viegas 🇵🇹 Street Art • Graffiti • Print Release , by ecudat on Mar 24, 2021 17:28:03 GMT 1, He's on my "want" list and the print is decent, but don't like it enough to take up rapidly-diminishing wall space with it. Probably would have been a safe/good investment, but I'll leave it to others who might hopefully want it for their walls!

Nuno Viegas 🇵🇹 Street Art • Graffiti • Print Release , by mrizzle on Mar 24, 2021 21:34:01 GMT 1, I like seeing his previous concepts being explored in a new way and I really feel think it’s one of his strongest pieces to date. I’m surprised it’s not sold out yet, all the main edition sculptures are though.

Do you think? I didn’t feel the pricing was too punchy and marginally cheaper than many GP prints will be for U.K. buyers now with the added VAT. That doesn’t take into account the additional import fees/duty etc however.

Nuno Viegas 🇵🇹 Street Art • Graffiti • Print Release , by Alexander 88 on Mar 25, 2021 13:18:27 GMT 1, Arghh: I’m a big Nuno fan, but I didn’t connect with this print. I missed the pops of colour typical of his previous releases, golds, reds, Klein/Majorelle blues...
This one felt a little washed out - almost greyscale. Perhaps that’s why it’s still available? Maybe you could share a pic when it’s framed up, often art comes to life with a bit of interior context.
I think you’re right on the price point: nothing prohibitive there, plus it received plenty of promotion across IG. I’m hoping for something a little bolder from his next release 🤙

Nuno Viegas 🇵🇹 Street Art • Graffiti • Print Release , by mrizzle on Mar 25, 2021 19:38:05 GMT 1, If you’re a U.K. buyer then I’m currently speaking to Underdogs to try and ensure that they provide paperwork for customs with the appropriate tariff code so we receive 5% duty and avoid being hit with 20% and have to contest it. I believe they generally provide an electronic invoice and don’t provide paperwork so working something out with them to hopefully help us U.K. buyers.

I should be able to confirm that they’ve done everything that they can do from their end. Recent issues with FedEx (and the fact that that’s who is shipping it) has forced me to do whatever I can to try and prevent us all having to contest incorrect duty being applied. Just thought it best to try and do what I can to try and prevent it if at all possible. As I say, will let you all know. To be fair, they’ve been really helpful and receptive to doing what they can after flagging it to them.

Nuno Viegas 🇵🇹 Street Art • Graffiti • Print Release , by mrizzle on Mar 29, 2021 17:36:05 GMT 1, Finalised the invoices with Underdogs today and I copy part of their correspondence below. Hopefully we (U.K. buyers) will manage to avoid the customs capers this time around and face only the correct duty. Have to say, they’ve been super helpful, a pleasure to correspond with and really keen to do whatever they can from their end. Now to see what happens when it arrives...
“We are happy to help you and other UK customers with this issue. Your edition will be shipped today (you probably got the notification already) and we kindly ask you to inform us if everything went smoothly with customs.
Have a lovely day.”

Anonymous person with a spraycan...terrorist, vandal...I don't get it. Something about identity, invisible man? I dunno, you know when you want to like something but can't.
It’s all subjective isn’t it? As I’ve said before, I love the image. For me, not trying to dig too deeply into it (and possibly viewing it quite(/too?) literally), I think it’s quite simply a graffiti artist - as suggested by the name ‘The Writer’. The shirt mask (and missing face so synonymous with his style and past work) alluding to the anonymity/concealment used by so many street artists. I do often view the shirt mask as being some way symbolic of revolutionary change. I’ve never interpreted them in a negative way but possibly, on this occasion, the wearer might be creating political messages?
I also now wonder if there’s some element of self-portraiture in the image. This is primarily based on a response he provided to a comment I made about the Reebok classics worn by the subject of the image. He replied, “...most comfy sneaker for my feet”. Perhaps overthinking it and he just likes the shoes but it did make me wonder.

Nuno Viegas 🇵🇹 Street Art • Graffiti • Print Release , by mrizzle on Apr 1, 2021 17:38:33 GMT 1, Cautionary word for anyone in the U.K. expecting this print from Underdogs, you’re highly likely to revive a text asking for £80.14 in customs duty and fees. Ignore it. They’ll deliver without you paying it and you should receive an amended (and correct) paper invoice in the coming days. Don’t pay this initial fee as it’s genetically generated based on the 20% import duty. It’s not correct though.

I’m not entirely certain because I cannot recall exactly what their handling fee is but around about £30 I should think.
