And offered me one of these free of charge. Which is nice. Have bought directly from imbue before now and always found him a decent bloke so thought this was a nice touch worth sharing with you lot.

Imbue π¬π§ 24Hr Art Club β’ Coca Cola β’ Virgin Mary, by skendo1 on Oct 23, 2014 15:30:23 GMT 1, Definitely, the music analogs were very cool.
I recall Radiohead releasing "In Rainbows" as a you pay-what-you-like download.
As to the NIN album, Hairbland, were you referring to Ghosts I-IV or was there another album? My very faint recollection of the Ghosts I-IV album was that it was released under a Creative Commons license for free but with scaled options that got you different things, not as a pay-what-you-like (although presumably nothing stopped a fan from sending NIN money).
I find this use of the model even more interesting though. I suspect that there was a fairly strong pricing norm (basically set by iTunes) for track/album prices by 2008---and the limited data about the "In Rainbows" release seemed to conform to this. But I am less confident that there are consistent price norms for art prints, which might mean that there is much greater variance in terms of what people perceive of as a fair price and, thus, a harder-to-calculate return for the visual artist.

I'm not sure of the details re NIN but regardless seems a failed experiment: www.theverge.com/2013/3/4/4054634/musics-pay-what-you-want-pioneers-sour-on-giving-away-songs
Regarding art, I think a model similar to how NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art's Admittance fee would work, were technically you can get in for free (or $1) but that's not publicised the signage reads "Suggested Admittance $24" and most pay that.
I'd create a benefactors registry of those that bought my art, with those buying agreeing by some small print terms of acceptance.
For example with this, suggested donation $10 / pay what you wish.

He did some great skits, as he does, but I'm a bit pissed off that i bought a snub nose print of dubious print quality for a tenner plus postage when this is bigger, better quality and - if I'm being a cheapskate - cheaper. Not the greatest marketing stunt you could pull for existing customers. kid acnes done it too

Imbue π¬π§ 24Hr Art Club β’ Coca Cola β’ Virgin Mary, by Deleted on Oct 24, 2014 20:21:46 GMT 1, Β£6 shipping seems cheap if its global. I cant ship a print in a tube for less than β¬30 from France. have you tried to put the tube into a large box or Even just build a "box" around it out of cardboard.....worked here in Germany cause they said it is easier to transport square things than round ones.....made in much cheaper......crazy mail service Sending parcels inland is cheap in France but anything abroad they class it as merchandise and charge 30 euros saying that it is insured with tracking.
So even if it was sent in a flat package or small box will be the same price.
A lot of buyers think that because a print is sold for a low price that the postage has to be a low price as well.
It isn't and thats life.

But as it is, I can see that this is not the case, I can see the affects applied, to make it appear more 'natural' if you like, and it's quite effective, but sadly misses many of the qualities of a real screen print.
But then I am a screen printer so I probably would say that :/
