I thought this was information worth sharing for the benefit of the community. As you all may be aware, StockX sells older OriginalFake era Kaws pieces. I was always curious how good they were with legit checking older pieces, and my confidence went down after seeing some shady sales (Karimoku companion for 22K? In what world would someone sell a legit one for that low).
Long story short, a trusted consigner purchased the 2002 Black Accomplice from them, and its fake. The items outer plastic wrap is sealed, and there is no inner plastic wrap. Furthermore, I was under the impression that these were an edition of 500, so seeing one numbered larger than 500 is another huge red flag for me.
Given that you can not see the item that youโre purchasing on the site, I would be very very careful with purchasing on StockX. My consigner is currently in the midst of getting his money back. Will keep everyone posted.

70% of their โstockโ would be fake. Their Authenticators have no qualifications or have ever worked for brands within the supply chain to understand what they are actually looking for. I once saw a job add for an Authenticator (โProduct Analystโ is what they decided to call it) - there was no requirement to come from the retail, art, textile etc industry. It just said no experience require - training provided.
Just look up โAuthenticator StockXโ on LinkedIn, itโs fascinating to see that most of the people who have these made up jobs have no practical experience.
