He said you’re supposed to replace the cow heads every six months. I wonder if it’s a pain in the ass to find a dozen cow heads. Seems like a lot of work finding and then replacing them every six months. But I suppose someone who owns a large scale Damien Hirst piece would pay someone to do that. I’m starting to look forward to the daily, morning video posts from Hirst.  6 months! Surely those cow heads are going to rot and stink in a matter of days. Did he mention the symbolism of his latest work per chance? I'd be interested to know but I'm not on instagram. I can recommend Dalston Market for fresh replacement cow heads, they sell all sorts of weird exotic dead or even alive creatures to eat or use as art.
Tbh he’s kind of all over the place with his explanation of this one. He shits on it, then talks about putting heads together, then talks about cows and chickens being the most slaughtered animals, then buttons it with some mad cow disease and the lack of effect standard paintings have. It's good of him to explain the thought process behind his work, I really like the 3D Bacon sculpture concept.

Indeed I still call it bigotry. Art contains provocation, nudity, violence, racism, and many other factors that stimulate the viewer. The simple fact that you can’t discern art from pornography should make you question your dedication to art itself

He’s a polarising artist and most of the great ones who stand the test of time are, guaranteed he’ll still be relevant and talked about in 20-50 years regardless of his personality.
