Watch Collectors โ Buy & Sell, by sircoxson on Feb 5, 2021 20:00:53 GMT 1, You have good taste my friend.
I had a Mark 15 many years ago as well as a 3227 (miss it dearly and loved it for its Genta vibes and best bracelet design in the business, except for maybe VC) when I was really into the brand. Was you aware its the watch that Tom Cruise wears in Vanilla Sky, the MK15 that is?
Love the tropic!
thank you.
didnโt know about the MK15 in Vanilla Sky tbh...

Watch Collectors โ Buy & Sell, by samo on Feb 6, 2021 4:03:04 GMT 1, 5711 should bring a couple of bathrooms for the new house ๐ And the rest! Mine has gone back into its coffin and into the safe for this very reason. Always been my favourite go to watch and was always so stealthy but now with all the hype it has become too conspicuous. Have to dislike social media! That's probably the reason why they have discontinued the 5711.
Despite the rumours of a 10-year waiting list ๐

Watch Collectors โ Buy & Sell, by christiangul on Feb 6, 2021 18:43:32 GMT 1, What watch is a good entry into the world of investing in watches I am very cautious of suggesting anything related to an โinvestmentโ when it comes to watches. There are some fairly safe bets but the watch world has been in a bubble for a number of years now and youโre going to pay top dollar for most desirable watches these days. Your best bet if youโre looking for an investment is to create a relationship with an AD and hope to be offered some of the more sought after pieces at cost. However, brands like Rolex know what theyโre doing and demand far outweighs supply so youโre looking at a lengthy wait for something like a Batman (preferred the older bracelets personally), Submariner or Daytona for example. You are very unlikely to ever lose money with any of the โHoly Trinityโ (Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe). However, I think youโd also be relatively safe with A Lange & Sohne or Rolex. However, I buy my watches to wear and ultimately my advice is to discover your preferred style and makes and buy what youโd like to wear. If it holds its money or increases in value then thatโs a bonus. Oh...and donโt ever buy quartz watches. For me a huge amount of my passion for watches relates to the craftsmanship and history of a brand. Quartz watches are always going to be reliable but thereโs no romance or craftsmanship behind those types of movements. Iโm no leading authority on this and, judging by some of the collections already on show, there will be others who can speak to this better than I can. Hope that helps a little as a starter.
Good advice from mrizzle here begs. I have a few supplements;
Be careful with many of the watches that are offered with great discounts on the secondary, as Tag Huer, Breitling, etc if your are into โinvestingโ in a watch. Ultimately itโs of course important to buy what you like, but it might be wise to purchase a bit with your head, not just the heart. ;-)
Iโm not sure what your budget is, but I think A. Lange & Sohne, Breguet and FP journe have a possible upside in the years to come. Also I have a small crush on Glashรผtte Original. Not sure the value will increase significantly in the coming years, but they produce lovely watches! The Rolex bubble is crazy big atm and when itโs bursting I think many โcollectorsโ will find other brands like these mentioned more desirable. And like mrizzle said, you canโt go wrong with the trinity either. Good luck!

www.bobswatches.com/rolex-blog/watch-review/4-facts-rolex-oysterquartz-will-surprise.html
One of the rarest range of watches from Rolex Produced for 25 years and speculated less than 25000 made Some models less than a 1000 made and even a 100
Potentially a range that will be picked upon by collectors in the future Cheap at the moment
The recent watch collectors market has been driven by social media websites Influencers, watch clubs and the accessibility to Auction market results via the internet
The oysterquartz will be picked up on soon The root beer was undesirable a few years back and could always pick them up cheap after a few watch clubs marketed them as collectible the herd followed

Watch Collectors โ Buy & Sell, by dueuomo on Feb 20, 2021 0:09:12 GMT 1, I just started thinking about purchasing my first expensive watch and I am really undecided.
I'd like to buy something that I really like, that can hold value, and maybe that is also recognized by non-expert.
I really like the IWC PORTUGIESER blue dial Rolex sky dweller blue dial oystersteel omega speedmaster professional
any suggestions among these or others similar?
should I buy from the boutique or are there reliable online retailers? I am only looking at new ones. Thank you for any suggestion.
