We're in lockdown here so it's going to be a while. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Will be my first watch with the exception of fitness trackers. Thoughts on the Milgauss? I know it's a very 'love it or hate it' watch.
Got the phone call today... surprisingly quick as haven't any history with the AD. All paid for and collection will happen as soon as the shop reopens which is hopefully next month. Currently got some buyer's regret ๐

I feel the same way about the explorer ii - not popular but the coolest looking watch in the Rolex catalog in my opinion (which doesn't amount to anything).

Kind of scratches that integrated Genta itch without all the hassle, expense and waiting. Might be worth checking out.

The auto actually comes in at only 10.8mm vs 10.4mm for the quartz so the difference isn't too bad! Plus the majority of my collection is automatic divers so I don't mind a thicker watch. My main concern is with diameter and lug-to-lug measurements because I'm a skinny guy with slim wrists. I do actually wish they would make a 38mm PRX, but that seems unlikely, so I'll probably give the auto a go. The waffle dial on the auto is cool and the Powermatic 80 is a great movement, especially for someone who rotates watches often. |

Agreed! That mother of pearl layer should make for a really cool looking dial. I'm digging the angular case also and they're damn near perfectly sized at 40mm. Might have to start saving for one of the steel 830s, haha. |

One of my favourites is this 16570 Explorer II from 1994. Bought it in 2000 for a song ( around 1,500GBP with box and papers ). Had the cyclops removed as I hate them.
For me this is the last proper tool Rolex. Whatever came after this is all too big and shiny.
